He did what he had to do even going to the extremes he did, but he proved his worth and that he was clean. Getting the flu was kind of poetic as if faith was testing his resolve and throwing in one last curve ball.

But riding it out without taking anything out of fear? That's a risky move right there, on paper he should have lost that fight when you factor all that ****, and how diminished he probably was, even 10% diminished is too much at that level, not to mention Jennings was ready and game.

Fury has the best fight IQ in the division right now, though Ortiz is a smooth operator and carries skills and experience that very few heavyweights can even approach. King Kong definitely gives anyone a hard, hard fight, though I'd still favour Fury and Wlad over him at this moment in time.

Ortiz has good heavy hands. He is a bit ponderous but has good triggers, i.e. he can let his hands go. Also his chin seems ok, I don't see a chin problem in the horizon. He has the ring smarts that a lot of Cuban veterans have which are invaluable.

Yes he is on the present short list imo. I think we have to see how he catches guys who move better. Odlanier Solias had better foot movement, I miss him!

Ortiz better learn how to cut the ring off better if he wants not to become a "Sam Peter."

He's 36 years old. He needs to go all out the next two years. I look forward to some fun fights with him..

I was impressed with his performance this past weekend, he managed to stop Jennings which Klitschko couldn't do.

However he needs to keep doing random drug testing before each fight to prove he's clean. He sounds like he's willing to so that is a good sign.

Ortiz spent a lot of his best years in Cuba, fighting 350 amateur fights. Too bad he didn't come to the states & go pro sooner. That said, he will be a force in the division & if politics and plain fear doesn't get in the way, he will be a champion.

Ortiz was impressive. Another southpaw in the heavyweight division!

It sucks so much that he isn't 10 years younger. I hope the next couple years he takes out ALL the top guys. I honestly don't see anyone beating him, maybe Fury or Klitschko(due to styles)... no one else.

                      ****ing beast Ortiz is.
