If he was he wouldn't be talking about Golovkin/Jacobs.

Will GGG haters shut up if he fights and beats Jacobs?

The idea of matching IBF/WBA middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin against Danny Jacobs may not seem so far-fetched anymore.

After making the fight with Al Haymon-advised Dominic Wade and Golovkin for April 23 on HBO, K2 Promotions Mmanaging Director Tom Loeffler spoke of a day when he has to deal with another Haymon-guided fighter in Brooklyn’s Jacobs, who is coming off a stunning first-round stoppage of Peter Quillin in December.

Golovkin-Jacobs in New York, from where Jacobs hails and where Golovkin has a strong fan base? Loeffler allowed himself to dream a little on Wednesday.

Being able to make this fight with Wade, if (Golovkin is) successful, then certainly a fight with Danny Jacobs, who is clearly at the top also of the middleweight division – he had a very impressive knockout of Peter Quillin,” Loeffler told ******.com. “And Gennady being able to sell out (Madison Square Garden) in his last fight – you can only imagine how big a fight between Gennady and Jacobs would be in New York. That would be a monster fight in the New York area. From our side, there wouldn’t be any obstacles to making that fight.”

Now someone remind me why we're talking about Zurdo Ramirez again
          Link isn't working.

But this does sound good. I want to see Jacobs vs Golovkin.

              Exactly

GGG's fans have faith in GGG and I see something in Jacobs that I think would get the job done.

God forbid you're a fan that welcomes GGG to fight your guy, people still find a way to complain about why it shouldn't happen. Then once they cry about why GGG shouldn't fight {insert fighter}, they'll go back to complaining about everyone ducking him.

              It's insane.

Take a look at this thread and tell me if the Jacobs fight should be enough?

They should fight being that Golovkin is WBA super champ and Jacobs is WBA regular. Clearing that whole 2 titlist (often 3) is something the WBA should be on hard.

It is a good fight for GOlovkin also, both guys are known in NYC so it is easily salable, it is a pretty big middleweight fight which would add to Golovkin's middleweight status, and it is a fight he would be favored to win.

Canelo obviously brings more but that is not a bad fallback fight that they should be working on making.
