Daniel Jacobs hints at the GGG fight happening in 2016

Bradley is meaningless, its comparing apples to oranges. Another poster already pointed out that the money Manny generates, made that money Bradley got a possibility. That possibility does'nt exist here.

As for what it means for GGG. He probably kills Johnson in Feb/Mar and then it is another waiting game until May, sadly. I still don't see how you make this about GGG backing himself into a corner, when Saunders, Quillen and Jacobs have all priced themselves out and Canelo is playing kick the can down the road. Like GGG has some mystical control over those guys demands.

My point was Bradley doesn't make that kind of money as you listed. He made a huge payday-more than he ever did-because the of the situation he found himself in. That's why I compared it to Jacobs-and suggested GGG take less to make it happen.

Understanding that, Jacobs people clearly realize GGG has a need. They know HBO has reduced its budget and can't put every fight on TV. So they may need a PPV or sit GGG on the shelf, which they do not want, or they do the fight and not have any fights the last quarter like the last 2 years (keep in mind at least 1 Canelo and 2 kov fights are slated for HBO).

So if a PPV has to happen, Jacobs is the best option for that fight, so his value increases. To meet his demand GGG may have to settle for less or "take short money" as you say.

I'm just assessing the situation as I see it. I could be wrong.

****, Canelo delay? I seriously doubt he fights GGG at all. That is one area I'm actually pissed at GGG and his team. They should of grew a set and forced the situation with the WBC, now not later. I think they are dumb as **** agreeing to delay it further.

you are trying to equate 2 VERY different scenarios. An isolated low ball purse has no overall effect on the market, but a HIGHER one does.

Dude, the previous purse has no bearing on the next fight being made. Boxers purses are not NBA contracts with a guaranteed raise each year.

Fighters purses fluctuate with each fight based on bids-except if they have a set deal.

Jacobs will not see that kind of money. It is a pipe dream. Even if it goes to purse bids, Jacobs will only be the challenger. He will not be treated with a champion status. Hell GGG will be super lucky to see 2.5 Million against Canelo, and that is going into a unification scenario in a much bigger fight. GGG will get low balled against Canelo, and he will take it.

This is my only point to Natas, OP and every GGG fan. It isn't 1985. Canelo/GBP can delay the GGG fight as long as they want given his ability to earn.

SO why that sucks for GGG, he has to decide what he is going to do. He can make more money if he fights huge underdogs that are willing to accept $100k because its a huge payday for them.

Or, he can take less to fight a Jacobs on PPV, with the hope that he makes more down the road to offset whatever he loses by taking "short money".

Its not fair, but its reality. This is the major reason why Jacobs trying to get $3 mil isn't so far fetched.

Yep. Julian Williams' team have already said they'd move up to fight Danny, he could lose that fight for alot less than Golovkin would earn him under reasonable circumstances.
