Isn't there a master Pacquiao-Mayweather thread floating around somewhere?

After spending roughly 6 years talking about this fight, you'd think people be willing to let it go.

    It's over, let it go.

There's so many more interesting things to talk about in boxing.
    End of year thread man

Its like you have a child who is great at basketball and he has 20 points..but you are looking and see he should have 40...because he is not aggressive enough

Underrated corner speech by Sr., Floyd needed that, Pac had two decent rounds at that point. Floyd was obviously timid and I don't think there's is anything wrong with that, fear can be a motivator if channeled properly.

I wonder if there was ever a time where he was staring across the ring and thinking to himself ..."I'm fighting Manny ****ing Pac" and if Pac thought the same. They seemed to fight like that at times.

Remember directly after the fight when it was obvious who won, the only thing Floyd Sr. could do was make some kind of weird raspy noises, I think he was saying he loved him, but it was clear he was embarrassed. Floyd had the fight well in hand from the opening bell and PAC knew it.

They both were nervous probably because it had a 5 year build up and pacquiao just got KTFO 3 years ago.

They probably wouldn't have fought like that 5 years ago.

Losing to a lesser fighter wouldn't be that damaging but losing to the man people said can beat you, on the biggest stage of all...that is damaging. And i don't think it was one way traffic, i believe both guys were apprehensive to lose to each other because of the stage it was on and the talk for years about who is the best.

It's the same reason i believe Khan has never been keen to face Brook. If Khan loses to Kell Brook at Wembley stadium with the whole nation watching, it's a lot more damaging then if he had lost to Alexander or something, even though Brook is a much better fighter. I don't believe Khan fears being in the ring with anybody at all, but fears losing to that certain fighter because of the consequences.

So i never felt Floyd was afraid to actually fight Pacquiao, just the consequences of losing that particular fight on that scale would have been so damaging. Pacquiao losing is bad for him but he lost in recent years anyway and Floyd was favourite and undefeated and was the villain in the eyes of the general public, he had way more to lose.

                Good point...

Floyd is still afraid of Manny, showed in the fight where he basically fought to survive rather than win.

Fight should have happened in 2010.

A health amount of fear is useful, there's a reason why we evolved to experience it, and i can't imagine Mayweather being immune. Mayweather respected Pacquiao and his power more then necessary in my opinion, Pacquiao at his best was a volume puncher that would wear you down more than a one punch ko artist so once he shut down his offense in round one he was in complete control.

I thought Sr was being excessive but his point was a valid one, Mayweather was in complete control and could have put more pressure, but he respected what Pacquiao was capable of, I see him being much more comfortable and aggressive if there ever were a rematch.

Dude, let's be real...if they would have gotten into a brawl Pacqyiao would have beat his ass. That's a no brainer. Maybe that's what he was afraid of. But he always knew he could win a boxing match against Pacquiao. Pacquiao has dangerous power. He hurts people. He has put almost everyone he has fought on the canvas. Floyd is aware of that as well.
