The only fight where Porter has looked impressive (IMO) is against Malignaggi...and that's not a high bar to get over.stop trying to discredit Porter's win.

Porter might be stronger but that's all he is. He certainly isn't smarter - thus why he got dropped off a single punch in the 12th.
A 100% Broner schools Shawn Porter.

Porter does lack ring IQ but he is awkward and explosive, which means he will be in position to create upsets and change the tide of fights, like Wilder for example. This is a very even fight IMO. Thurman is there to get hit, and will.

Let's compare Thurman opponents though, truthfully.
Thurman took everything Guerrero had to offer and Guerrero is a much smarter fighter than Porter, but he's also awkward and explosive. Didn't help him get the W.
Chaves stylistically came at Thurman the way I see Porter coming at Thurman but with 2/3rds the speed. Again, I don't see Porter getting KO'd or stopped, I say it goes the distance, but I see the flow of the fight going much the same way as the Chaves fight.
The problem with this matchup is that we know Thurman's got a rock solid chin, but we also know that Porter can and will go down from one well placed fast shot when he gets over confident. Thus why I strongly believe Thurman beats him.

Because that's why he lost, too.

I consider both fighters to have solid chins, I don't give the edge to Thurman in that regard, I think both will get hit and that's part of the reason it's such an exciting fight for me.

Porter went to war against Julio Diaz, went the distance and then barely eeked a victory. Thurman stopped him on the backfoot. That's another place that leads me to believe that the styles favor Thurman - I don't see Porter getting there and if he does, I see him getting caught. Don't see a KO, but I do see an outclassing (as well as tons of posts claiming Thurman "ran")

Thurman has been down before. I think Porter is the more durable fighter but they've both got bags of heart, this one 100% goes the distance.
