Maybe the Germans know now that Klitschko is finished they can clean up the sport in their country? One thing for sure steroids and heavyweight boxing make many people rich. It took a NATURAL man of 6'9" to get the klit outta there, thank god justice finally arrived

German newsagency DPA reports that former EBU heavyweight champ Erkan Teper tested positive for forbidden substances twice – the first time was then winning the EU title in June 2014 and then when beating David Price in July 2015. Neither case have been made public until now and both fights where supervised by the German EBU member BDB.

BDB President Thomas Puetz tells DPA that Teper could get more than a year suspension.

As previously reported Teper could also face charges for possession of illegal substances.

Looked into the German news, not everything is complete and accurate in this news.

BDB president says that Erkan Teper was suspended for 6 months after his first positive test June 13 2014. Initially he got 9 months but confessed taking banned substances and got the suspension reduced.

For his second positive test after the Price fight he can get a maximum suspension of one year. The BDB wants to get a statement from Teper which they haven't got so far.

It's quite fishy how they do nothing for 5 months and are 'waiting for a statement' from Teper.
If he really was suspended why didn't they cange the outcome of his June 13 2014 fight? This is terrible.

The EBU actually has reacted and in their suspension list Teper is listed with a two year suspension:

Boxing doping needs a serious shake up, and central regulatory body in place. What other sport has drugs test as a contract negotiation, and not in every fight.
gone are the days of judges receiving brown envelopes stuffed with cash after the fight, but doping is as bad as its always been.
If athletes and footballers who are randomly tested year round are getting away with it, then what chance is there of catching fighters.

The thing with it is even if you have testing, who has the authority to do something to a boxer in the whole of the sport of boxing. Boxing is so fractured that you could get popped in one country and still get sanctioned in another.

Testing is great but without a mechanism for enforcement it is kind of pointless, plus with the nature of boxing if a guy gets busted before a fight it literally screws over every stakeholder including the other fighter who could be totally in the clear yet ends up having to pay his trainer and team while getting 0 currency for a fight that doesn't then occur. That is always why it is hard to see it getting fixed in a proper way.
