Comments Thread For: Bernstein: Thurman-Porter Winner Can Emerge as Star of 147

Brooklyn, New York- Expert analyst Al Bernstein has been around boxing for decades. The Showtime commentator gave his assessment of the year that was in boxing in 2015. The two biggest fights in the sport were made (Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto-Canelo Alvarez). But even with that Bernstein says 2013 was a better year.

Al Bernstein better stop praising Golovkin, he's going to lose his Showtime job, of course HBO could always pick him up and that's a win-win. Two weeks in a row, Bernstein had to settle Brian Custer's cheerleading down by reminding him Golovkin is the top MW.

let's not forget that brook already beat porter rather decisively. the PBC and HBO factions at 147 need to unify before we can crown a new king

I honestly do think they would emerge as the next biggest stars. There are a lot of young talents that might just make a name for themselves. Like Errol Spence, & I can't remember the name of this Welterwgt that has really caught my attention, he is underfeated & he seems like a natural jr middlewgt, I think his last name is Hull. He fought a young underfeated prospect on showtime extreme...

If they win clearly. If it's a mess of a fight that needs a rematch the it'll be a setback.

Brook did beat Porter, but Porter would have more meaningful wins and more recent meaningful wins if he beats Thurman, at least until Brook-Khan happened.

                  No matter who wins.
