Sounds great. I think it's a huge risk with little reward (he'll get no credit) but I don't think Andre is shook by anyone and it would be better to take a hard fight than a softball before Kovalev. Barrera will force him to be at the top of his game and maybe even develop as a fighter. Pasqual does nothing for Kovalev and is not good preparation for Ward.

is that what you are going to say if kovalev beats stevenson? oh please stevenson lost to boone. you can't sum up a fighter's career by only bringing up 1 fight. just like you can't sum up a fighters career by saying he's undefeated. both statements lack nuance but here we are...

and ward has no power so ggg fighting him wouldn't mean anything right? errr wait not having power only matters sometimes but not others right? very consistent boxing fans here

        Don't be silly.

I was hoping that Kovalev would get Barrera, for an easy win after Pascal.

It's a solid comeback fight. Barrera has never been in the ring with a top 25 guy, but haters are already in full ****** mode saying he's better than anyone on Golovkin's resume. LMAO!! GGG is literally schooling him in training. He's a good boy saying "yes sir", "no sir"and "thank you sir" all time. He knows how to behave in front of the master. I wish him all the best.

Would be a good fight, even though Barrera never faced anyone of note. He is pretty green still.

Ward will still need to be on his A game to beat Barrera. Barrera is not an opponent you take lightly. But nothing is finalized yet and there still plenty of contenders that Ward can choose to fight such as Juergen Braehmer or Felix Valera.

Are you guys ****ing serious? Sullivan Barrera? Following on from the likes of Paul Smith and Edwin Rodriguez, over a span of over 2 years. Ward is a true legend, a true warrior.

                Never count him out!

If Golovkin fought Erislandy Lara, who is not even ranked at MW, i'd have the same praise for him.
