those saying that he fights like Marquez shines who their trainer is, it's just too bad he couldn't do it for Angulo. I think to get the full benefit of Nacho Beristain is upper torso flexibility. We can see a bit of it with Alvarez as well. Finito's guard and defense movement has Marquez traits it's so great to see the sweet science influence. Upper torso twisting combos
Who remembers the All Time Great, Ricardo Lopez?!

Only real boxing fans would know.
Rosendo Alvarez one of the top guys around the division. Finito drew once then came back to out box him.
Alex nene sanchez-another top guy at the time. Finito stopped him in 5.
Saman Sorjaturong who later went on to destroy Chiquita Gonzalez. Finito stopped him in two.
Moved up to jr flyweight-to take will grigsby's title. Grigsby one of the few American champs in the lower weights at the time.
Just to name a few.
Again only real boxing fans know that Finito was no joke and an all time great.
And to quote Roger Mayweather "most ppl dont know ***** about boxing ".
people on this forum think going to boxrec and looking at their records makes them boxing experts when most people on this forum don't watch fights under featherweight
Zolani Petelo former ibf strawweight champion
Ratanapol Sor Vorapin former ibf strawweight champion
Hideyuki Ohashi was a former wbc/wba strawwight champion
How can you say someone isn't an all time great without even having watch them fight live or a full fight???
Finito is the greatest strawweight of all time, making him the greatest little fighter ever.
He beat some good fighters but a lot of people on this forum don't even take time to watch the fighters but have an opinion about themComment

Did he ever have to kill himself to make weight for any of his fights? If he didn't then maybe he felt strawweight was his ideal weight class and straying to far into the higher weights would hinder his ability. He's more a victim of a weak era if anything.Comment

Lopez had tremendous skills, talent and was very fun to watch in the ring. I just have to say that his biggest fights in his time were Carbajal and Gonzalez. I'm not saying it's his fault they didn't happen, but his legacy would be much bigger if they had. Imagine Lopez-Gonzalez and Lopez-Carbajal. Definitely lots of fireworks and most likely even good PPV numbers for fighters below 115 pounds which is unheard of. And a lot of money would have been made there and I think the little guys might make even more now had those fights happened. It's a real shame we didn't get to see him in with more names. Personally, I think he would have beaten both of them, but he would have had trouble in exciting contests.Comment
