The Era of Cherry Picking has begun...

Mayweather might be the face of Cherry Picking in boxing but imo most of today's fighters are using the same formula of Cherry Picking......

The difference is that Mayweather earned the right to Cherry Pick, and the rest not

Cherry picking nothing short of former champs or current is not bad at all! Is that the latest trend and standard?

That's true...today's fighter don't want to earn their stripes like floyd did...I think Floyd started to cherry pick from 2007-

When you have contenders/prospects cherry picking their way into a championship you know we are in a cherry picking ERA...90s was the last great boxing decade imo

How does that have anything to do with Mayweather?

I don't get it. When you are champion, you look at the top 10 list and cherry pick ranked contenders based on availability, promotional status, willingness to fight you, money/fan demand, etc.

In actuality, every champion in history is a cherry picker.

Greetings to all the new boxing fans. Before you embarrass yourselves, check out the resumes of past champs and see if you still think cherry picking is new. It wasn't cool then and it isn't cool now.

cherry picking is as old as boxing itself

I plead with people who worship the "golden era" fighters to actually watch their careers on tape (I know most of you who identify them as heroes have only seen 2 or 3 of their fights). We say bums now but we don't mean actual bums. It used to mean actual bums.

                    Yeah that's cherry picking

bring up jmm divisions then miss weight
wait years to fight pacquaio after he gets ktfo and people are begging him to retire
                    ancient mosely
                    etc

maidana is probably the toughest fight on that list because he was actually at a good time in his career (and coincidentally he nearly won)
