Broner: "I have to give it to Andre Ward"(P4P King)

ANOTHER boxer/trainer who feels Andre Ward is the P4P King since Floyd retired....NOBODY gives a **** about him being inactive due to promotional and legal problems....Floyd took 2 yrs off, came back and was STILL P4P King....Ward was number two and with Floyd retiring, he becomes number one by default....simple!!

P4P King yet his last good win was against Dawson 4 years ago, but then again Dawson was severely weight drained in that fight so was it really a good win?

I just think boxers and trainers have more of an appreciation of Ward's skill than fans and writers.

Ward never served to be ranked #2 yet along #1 after 3 years of fighting no one.

If Broner agreed with me about something I'd start doubting myself.

You can't be p4p because of what you did years ago.

Are we going to put Mosley in the top 10 because he was there about 5 years ago and just won a fight? not at all, so why shouldn't that logic apply to Ward?

He's fought twice in 3 years against D-level fighters and has no fights lined up either.

It's not like we even know if he's as good as he was. How could we know? he doesn't fight much and when he does he fights poor competition. He's been very inactive and also coming up 32, it's not old of course, but he's not getting any younger and has huge spells of inactivity. It's only going to have a negative effect.

I don't care how skilled you are or were in theory, if you're not putting it to practice in the ring then against good fighters then you don't belong on the list.

                No doubt they do.

But I gotta say, there's a big difference between Floyd taking 2 years off between Hatton and JMM versus taking 2 years off between Edwin Rodriguez and Paul Smith. Ward's last good win was 3 or arguably 4 years ago.

I appreciate his skills, I truly do, but dislike his personality and inactivity.

if ward was currently p4p #1 then he'd be fighting kovalev right now, not spending a whole year tuning up

That's how it usually is. Just like boxers never said bad things about floyds unless they were gonna fight him
