It wasn't a cameo. That character was important and frequent in the film. He was also in Southpaw so he's somewhat groomed in as an official fight-actor, technically.

It is his first defense so i really don't care that much because I expect it to be against a guy like Rosado. Recognizable and fairly decent but not a real threat.

IF he isn't fighting Golovkin it really doesn't matter, there are better dudes than Rosado out there but a lot of those are hard to make and I don't know that fighting Lemieux at this exact moment does much more than Rosado to the average fan.

Since 2013, Canelo has fought Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, and Cotto. Majority of those fights were actual challenges. How many boxers have fought harder/similar challenges since 2013? A fight with Rosado will also have the Mex/PR rivalry attached to it.

Canelo is supposedly one of the best in the 154 and 160 divisions. So who does he choose to fight? Rosado, who has exactly 1 win in his last six fights (and that win was against a guy who, coming into the fight, had himself only fought 3 times in the last 4 years)? Rosado has done NOTHING to show he's worthy of fighting Canelo.

(And let's not pretend Kirkland and Angulo were tough fights for Canelo. Kirkland was coming off an 18-month layoff - and prior to the Canelo fight, he had fought only TWICE in the prior 3.5 years. Angulo's last credible win was back in 2010 against Alcine or Julio.)

Fighting Rosado is a waste of time. If Canelo is going to fight a no hoper then I'd at least want them to be a former world champion so it looks good on his resume.

Only way I wouldn't mind Canelo fighting Rosado is if he was fighting 3 times this year and if the Rosado fight was on regular HBO.

Onliest thing I have against Canelo (and I had it against Cotto as well, so unbunch those panties) is that if he's gonna' be claiming to be defending the lineal mw championship (or any championship for that matter), there should be no catchweight skulduggery. Kirkland and Angulo both turned out to be very easy nights. He isn't on a run of hard fights that he needs a break from. Rosado would be an absolute **** opponent for Alvarez and he would deservedly be criticized.

And the rest weren't easy fights. Like I said, if Canelo were to of had a majority of weak opposition since 2013, I'd criticize it too but it's not the case.
