How Many Times Has Your Favorite Fighter Been the Underdog?

My favorite of all time is Roberto Duran. I'm not sure about the Buchanan fight, but I know he was the underdog in the first Leonard fight. he was also the underdog against Hagler and Barkley.

I'm a big GGG fan, but I can't remember any fights where he was the underdog. I don't think Kovalev has been much either. I'm a Maidana fan and I know he was the underdog against Mayweather and of course, Broner. Canelo was the underdog against Mayweather and I know the odds were close with Lara. What are some other examples?

Froch was underdog against Jermain Taylor, what an upset that was.
Juan Manuel Marquez was underdog against Pacquiao.

What about Terry Flanagan vs Zepeda and Magdaleno too.

Thinking about fighters I like and their underdog status in certain fights has got me thinking,

Any peeps here who are a fan of boxers who were the underdog and victors in at least 4 fights?

I struggle to think of any at the top level tbh.

Was Roy an underdog against Toney? That's probably the only time in his prime he might have been an underdog.

Pacquiao was a few times. Froch has been a few times. Bradley as well.

Last time GGG was close to being an underdog was against Proksa and he was still favourite by 2/1 I think.

I don't really have favorites, at least, not any current fighters But, I'll usually side with the underdog. A fight might be underway and if the guy I'm rooting for is kicking ass, I might find myself rooting for the other guy. I don't get caught up in fandom so I'm not "loyal" to boxers, but some of the guys I like most are guys that have been underdogs often.

My 2 favourites in recent years are Cotto and Froch, so a fair few times.

In terms of guys lower down the food chain, I still like Proksa, who I'm guessing he was an underdog for his latest fight (loss vs undefeated guy) and was for GGG and Mora.

It's an interesting, different feeling when your personal favourites are going up against it in that way. I picked Cotto over Pac and Canelo, I still like to watch Pac-Cotto sometimes as it's Pac, the greatest offensive fighter of his era, giving arguably a career best performance, but there's still always a feeling of 'Man, I wish this was against somebody else'.

I expected Froch to lose a couple of the ones he won, and although I didn't think he'd beat Kessler, that was a different kind of viewing experience as well in that I wanted Froch to do that little bit extra that would've won the fight but he didn't quite manage it, I think I had him losing by a point IIRC.

5 times, El Chino wasn't the favorite against, Broner, Mayweather, Khan, Ortiz, and Alexander.

He gave them all hell except Alexander's barney hugging/headbutting ass.

I would be confident he could've revenged all his losses even Floyd since he's older and have slowed down since their fights.

Funny i remember folks was picking Thurman to beat him if they'd fight and im sure once again Chino would've been the underdog and it would be a perfect fight to bet on Chino.

He was one of the best at upsetting the applecarts.
