Wilder, Fury, Chagaev all have fixed bouts. So if Ortiz is extremely lucky he may get the winner of Browne/Chag next summer. However a unification bout would over rule that, so the dude will most likely get a shot next winter at nearly 39yrs if he doesn't loose before then.

If Haye looks good, that could possibly be a great match up.

LOL @ the dude who said Ortiz looks 60. He definitely looks old as f#ck. He's gonna be like the Cuban George Foreman if his career really takes off.

I need to see more before I can get too excited about him. He's not really fought anyone before Jennings so while the Jennings W is great, he needs to do more for me to be impressed with him moving forward. I mean people **** on GGG for being 34 or w/e & not having a defining fight (although with a bunch of high level, live opponent type wins), but Ortiz is 36 & just arguable had his first live opponent last night.

I've known about Ortiz for a while. I've watched a couple of his fights on YouTube, but I try not to get too excited about one of my fighters until after it's evident he's got the goods. Like all prospects, Luis was being fed weak opposition for a while, so I took all those KOs with a grain of salt. Ortiz looked okay, but the fights didn't last long enough to really see everything he had in his arsenal. Last night, I got to see enough of this guy to get excited.

Will it hold up? Only time will tell. But Luis is big and strong, with a monster punch, and the skill and coordination to use that power effectively. He moves very well for a big man. When was the last time you saw such a good Ali impersonation? Lol Ortiz showed very good stamina, too. With all that movement in the middle rounds, you would think a guy that big would lose steam. He didn't. Jennings may not be great, but he's a solid fighter, especially in this era. The way Luis handled and disposed of him cannot be easily overlooked.

Now he is a pretender but before that they were a lot of fans giving him no chance because he didnt have the experience, forgetting of course hi pedigree, just like have dismissed other Cubans standouts like Rigondeaux, Barthelemy and others...

              Where's the bandwagon?

Really enjoyed Ortiz' performance last night. That was the second (maybe 3rd?) time I've seen him and he looks like the goods to me. Most fluid, comfortable looking HW I've seen since Lewis hung em' up. It was sweet watching him set Jennings (whom I was rooting for) up for that uppercut. Just baiting him in and then **** with the ambush that was the beginning of the end for Jennings. The way he looked last night reminded me of some great heavy weights of decades past.

The only thing that bugs me is that he's flabby. Granted less last night than in fights past, but still. Dude who wants to be world heavyweight champ oughta' be able to lay off the Twinkies.

It makes me afraid that some guys might be able to run away from him landing the occasional jab and score a crappy sd from some bad judges.

He needs to be like Hagler: "This is K and this is O. These are my judges."

              Wartiz!

Jennings couldn't hurt Ortiz. Other guys may be able to and cause him to fight differently.
