Comments Thread For: Walters, Sosa Fight To A 10 Round Draw

Verona, NY -- There are still 12 days left before 2015 comes to a close, but it stands to reason that Nicholas Walters will remain the victim of the worst boxing robbery of the year.

The former featherweight champion appeared to have outworked Jason Sosa throughout their 10-round bout Saturday evening at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. The three judges saw an entirely different fight, as the HBO-televised co-feature was ruled a majority draw.

Tom Schreck - normally one of the best judges in the game - somehow had Sosa winning 96-94. Matching cards of 95-95 from judges Don Ackerman and Wynn Kintz were nearly as bad, but at least spared Walters the embarrasment of being dealt his first loss in what should have been a landslide win

Say what you want about the decision, but those two put on a show. The fight itself was pretty good.

This was one of those fights where you want to see everyone's reaction to the cards being read out.

Lol wtf were those judges watching. Absolutely terrible. Walters was in control most of the fight. His defense was on point and landed the best shots. Do t get me wrong, Sosa was a game dude and put up a gr8 effort but those scores were ridiculous.Boxing is such a mysterious sport..it was a very good fight none the less.

              But Walters dominated clearly !!!

Decisions like this are why Boxing is perpetually flawed !!!

                  Horrible Decision

Look this was a very good fight. But there is no way in hell this was a draw. Walters was more effective, more economical punches. Look Sosa threw more but the majority didn't land, and when they did they weren't effecting Walters remotely.

This was 7 rounds to 3 at best. Horrible Decision

One thing I will say Walters at 130 was good but not great like he was at Featherweight. I know this was his first fight at 130 but it was dominate like I thought it would be. Solid overall performance from Walters.

Sosa was very game. Look forward to seeing him more.
