38? where did you get that from. He's 31.

Anyway, if i was a fan of Andy Lee then i might be a bit disappointed. Saunders did what he normally does, actually more because he put Lee down twice. Lee couldn't seem to get in the position to pull the trigger. Saunders is a tricky fighter and probably more difficult to fight than it looks. There was a few times Lee looked like he could have fired a left hand right down the pipe but he didn't. Maybe he was just too worried about being countered because he knew he could be hurt.

Anyway, Saunders deserved the win but he does seem to let fighters get back into the fight. He has the skills to control the fight but seems to let things slip, a bit like DeGale does sometimes. If Saunders can do what he does best for 12 rounds, he would be a hard fight for any MW apart from GGG.

The sport has has been looking ridiculous to casual fans, for many reasons I won't discuss but we all know that go way deeper than anything this fight presented, thats why they only come around for the biggest fights once or twice a year.

This is really the bottom line.

I wish boxing fans respected winning more than they do. Max Kellerman just had a great lil interview I saw about a month ago where he says maybe boxing should update its rules in a manner that would make for more exciting fights instead of ****ting on guys for using those rules to the best of their ability to win fights. For the fighters the rules are the rules & their first goal should be to win not be entertaining. I think thats obviously when you say it, but some fans wanna act like it isn't.

It was cautious but I enjoy watching BJS because he is so skilled.

A lot of what he does movement wise gets unnoticed, he has great timing and hand speed as well as a slick defence.

Fury vs Klitschko was a terrible fight for watching but this was just a lot more technical and cautious.
Agree with all of this. I loved Fury's strategy from a winning the title/beating Klitschko point of view, but its impossible to dispute that is gonna be one of the least repeat viewing HW title changing hands fights of all time lol.

        Exactly.

All in all in this fight I think you gotta see what guys have been doing previously & be real about what to expect. I imagine many of the same people disappointed with Floyd vs Manny would be disappointed with this fight cuz you had the smart tactical fighter vs the I'mma KO you fighter (I think Lee was mislabeled as this tbqh, he's seemed painfully patient at times, like Canelo, & his power seems to be almost on accident when he KO's guy if that makes any sense) & the smart tactical fighter won both of those fights. And by them winning the rock em sock em robots aspect of the fight was lost. It seems clear as day to me that with their styles going in you knew the fight probably isn't gonna win fight of the year if Floyd or BJS won those particular fights.

That would be basically fighting his manager, well not 100%, but part owner of the company who manages him.
Doesn't Warren manage and promote him? And he is part of the MGM gym for training?

Either way though, I forgot he was at MGM now lol Ah well. There's still Blackwell, Eubank and Ryder for him.

Lee has always been a very inactive boring fighter reliant on one shot to bail his ordinary self out and BJS is just an amateurish jabber.

            Went as expected really.
BJS is like a poor man's 2008 Amir Khan.

Fight reminded me of Degale vs Dirrel. Both Degale and Dirrel got two early knock downs and basically fought to keep their lead and both fights were boring. Main difference being Degale atleast tried for the knockout the next round, while BJS was content with just that.

But than again Lee is a much more accomplish and dangerous fighter than Dirrel.

This was the first time I saw Saunders fight. He looked skilled but somewhat average.
