Every objective viewer of the sport sees things for what they are. HBO has spent the last three years, trying to sell Golovkin to their audience as some kind of monster wrecking machine, only to find out that they could barely get 100k homes to actually buy in to what they were trying to sell {the 97k ppv number from Glazer may not be accurate, but the fact that 1)the 150k figure came from Loeffler and 2)the 150k figure seems to magically be the break-even for the event, makes it clear that that number wasn't accurate either}.

Good. Hopefully that helps him sell more than 97k buys next time. If an Apple ad couldn't do it though, you have to wonder if this will....

Of course we could be wrong. Im sure its possible that a high level executive of a publicly traded company would lie about 55,000 buys, just to please the 50 people on a message board who would actually be interested. But Im guessing not.

You could at least PRETEND to be objective sometimes......

both sources directly mention that the 150k number came from Tom Loeffler, with Mark Taffet even only sideways mentioned in stating that the fight held up as good as they could expect against all of the competition for viewers (namely mentioning that Mets-Cubs on national TV likely sapped most of the sporting interest from the New York and Chicago media markets, two of the top five markets in the country).

The fact that you continue to believe that you can blatantly lie, yet hope that no one takes the time to fact check your bull****, is laughable.

Taffet made sure that he didn't mention any actual numbers for Golovkin because 1)he understands that it takes at least a week for the satelite companies to come forward with the firs counts, from where the initial projections for the entire event are made and 2)Golovkin-Lemieux was likely tracking so poorly that HBO clammed up in the lead to the fight, not really spending any marketing money to try and goose the numbers.

        hilarious

Ward is a boring overly religious featherfisted pansy who fighters every leap year.

            Of course he's not marketable.

GGG is a boxer who actually likes to fight. That alone makes him more marketable than Ward.

my god you are such a douche.

"Golovkin-Lemieux met or exceeded every benchmark of success which was set going into the event," Taffet told ESPN.com.

Everyone knows the break even was around 150k buys, so that statement right there is good enough for me. If you and Glaser want to sit around with your tin foil hats on and discuss conspiracy theories while you jack off into each others mouths, thats your business.

At 3:30 he is asked if he would fight Floyd "would you drop down to 160 to fight him?", he answers, "I would".

GGG was being generous in offering a fight at 164, but as we all know, Ward punked out.
