Damn shame. Content with his money he made from Floyd. In fact one of Floyd's most challenging fights in his last years. That alone should've given him the confidence to move to 154 and call it quits there. From his perspective, it doesn't get any better than his Floyd bouts.

I wanted Maidana vs Cotto at 154. But it seems that we won't get that fight :/

I'm gutted as a fan, I loved watching Marcos fight.

He deserves everything he's earned. Living on a massive ranch in Argentina surrounded by family sounds like a great life.

That's too bad. I always wanted to see against another quality welterweight. Not knocking his Broner win, but besides Broner, he got thoroughly outboxed by Devon and beat up on Lopez and a lower tier welter in Karass. He found himself against Floyd and that's good for him cause he was surprisingly competitive the first time and even did well in the rematch, but I wanted see him in at least another quality welterweight bout, versus Thurman or Porter (within the Haymon group).

I'm disappointed as a fan too, but he's been out so long now there's probably little sense in coming back if he doesn't have to. His timing will be off and he'll have to cut so much weight...I don't know if I would like his chances against another top welterweight under those conditions. He went out at the highest level possible, giving Floyd one of his toughest fights and earning another high pay-day in a rematch. If he has enough money and he's happy, good for him.

Would've aimed for Maidana vs Khan 2 and then retire from there. This then puts Garcia to fight Chino.... the "147 heavy hitters."
