Had the WBA done the right thing and stripped Sturm, then GGG vs Nunez (crap fight, but thats not the point) would have been for the vacant "regular" title instead of the vacant "interim" title, and then Big Dunn would have to acknowledge him lol
Its as if you are mad about every nefarious and corrupt move the WBA made EXCEPT elevating GGG from interim champ to regular champ.

You should be equally disgusted at all of the moves, not just certain ones.

For the past few weeks, GGG fans like one punch have been discrediting Jacobs "title" defense because they say he won a vacant belt. Ok, cool. But GGG was elevated, never won even a vacant belt, and they give that complete respect.

I think its a fair response. Yes, I do it in part to needle GGG fans. In that respect, yeah its petty.

But posters need to make sure if they have a problem with Jacobs I think they should also have one with GGG. They fully credit him with title defenses despite the way he won the belt.

        Is that right?
The truth is'nt petty, but providing no context for that truth is. Before the Lemieux fight I would of gave this argument some weight, but now just no. He has proven himself more than deserving of the two straps he currently holds.

Anyways it seems I may have missed a step or two in this debate that may of been in another thread. If so, I apologise if I was a bit out of line.

but GGG just won the interim belt and I showed you a link where GGG was rated number 2 by the WBA at the end of 2009... then in early 2010 he fought for the interim title... that was also around the same time Sturm was leaving his promoter and fought later on that year, in that time WBA elevated him to Super champion cuz he already had 5 defenses.

So in essence GGG just finished becoming his mando after the nunez fight.... but sturm was already upgraded to Super Champion status.

So imo from what I've read the WBA wanted GGG to fight for the "Reg" title to set up the fight with the Super champion.... which would have been the winner of Sturm-Geale and the reason behind Geale being stripped of the title for fighting mundine instead.

Jacobs wanting 3-5 million, means the fight never happens.

that nunez interim title fight wasnt until august of 2010.
Im talking about the year leading up to GGG-Nunez. At the time of GGG-Nunez, GGG was the #1 contender. That fight SHOULD have been GGG-Sturm, but the WBA are corrupt scumbags.

They both are because the WBA is so corrupt that they insist on having two champions in all divisions all of the time. They are a disgrace. Sorting out their mess is pointless. Both guys have claim to their little trinket.

yes GGG just became the number 1 contender... while Sturm became the Super champion...

that's what I had explained before
