The only way you can set a fight is through contracts and dates. This idea that Haymon is just keeping the fight a secret from Porter and the public because Porter wants to fight sooner is obviously complete nonsense.

It doesn't even make any sense. Its already December. Even if this ****** notion was true why would they continue to keep Porter in the dark?

This is all about Thurman not playing ball because he wants more money, nothing more, nothing less. It is all about moola.

Thurman vs Porter was obviously going to happen, the problem was obviously with the network/date rather than the fighters. Anyone with half a brain could see that. Hope they make it official by Monday.
Every fight he tweeted was at least a month before it was announced. I think only one fight didn't happen but it was a small fight. Props to TS for posting this.

The coward talk seems like a good angle, make someone look afraid it gets people talking. Then when the fight gets made that lingering coward talk crowd will instantly have a side and the Thurman supporters will obviously have beef with them. It creates some heat, I will admit it is kind of different but having been around here that is one of the main things that gets fans talking.

Also I would assume there would be another reason like date or something so there was time to kill, so to fill that time creating some form of drama was better than silence.

If true it's just another one of the myriad ways in which the Haymon A-sides get preferential treatment. So Thurman is told exactly what's going on, while the Porters are left to wonder about if they're getting the fight etc. Basically giving Thurman a chance to know exactly what he's preparing for, in hopes of getting a leg up. PBC is a disgrace

those fighters aren't under one banner the way Haymon fighters are. of course different promoters are going to try to get a leg up for their guy. it's a lot sketchier when both guys are under the same management and one gets every advantage. how soon we all forget the Broner/Porter debacle just because their plan to drain Porter and keep him from rehydrating failed to work.
