So he doesn't only care about the belts.

He cares about getting to the money via the least risk possible.

It's not an either/or situation. Money and risk go together in boxing.

Canelo is maturing and improving with every fight. BoxRec now rank him higher than Golovkin, p4p and at MW.

The least risk possible would be to refuse to allow him a voluntary and pick up the WBC belt by default if he refuses to fight GGG next, at 160lb.

Giving him till next September to mature and improve some more will make the fight both riskier and more lucrative for Golovkin when it eventually happens.

      • I disagree but it doesn't matter right now. We are talking about the present day and not the past. After the Kov-Ward fight, everything will be settled. If Kov beats Ward then I think it's time for ward to go back to 168 and see GGG. The ducking stories get so ****ing old. One side accuses GGG and the other blames Ward. It don't matter. IF WARD SKIPS THE KOV FIGHT NEXT YEAR, I DONT WANNA HEAR ABOUT GGG-WARD! Thats it.

Meanwhile Golovkin fights yet another stumblebum like Turano Jackson or whoever.

Tureano Johnson is his mandatory challenger for the IBF title.

Canelo, on the other hand, is only a little shorter (1.5 to 2 inches) than GGG, and probably has more reach. His fight weight is comparable to GGG's at around 170. If Golovkin beats him convincingly -- assuming they ever fight, which I still don't believe -- he could go to the top of the P4P without ever taking on a LHW such as Ward.

But he was willing to fight Froch doe.

And he was willing to fight Chavez doe.

And he said " anyone from 154-168 " doe.

I guess you should have called bull**** on that rubbish a few years back

He unified, and fought/beat elite fighters, you silly ****.

Don't mention Hopkins and Golovkin in the same sentence kid.

I told everyone that not only will Hypekin beat Hopkins record without facing even 1 world-class opponent..... his ****head fans would adore him for it and state that he is better than Hopkins.

Kovalev beating Ward wouldn't impress me as much though.

                      Oh really

But let me guess..... you were mightily impressed by the way that Hypekin dispatched Pepe Le Pew..... right ?
