That's the difference between hype and true greatness.
He's doing what he tried to do with his bullshit offer to Loeffler on GGG - carry on getting paid $2 million for tune-up fights as long as he can then look for a way out.

Hypothetical question for GGG fans. Many of you continue to say, "why does Gennady have to fight a guy two division above him." As if Ward has been a light heavyweight for years. Or as if he's even a factor in the division today. But that's besides the point. If y'all wanna pretend that Ward wasn't a mere division north of GGG when the fight began to make noise, cool. But let's say Ward, the light heavyweight is still willing to fight GGG at 168. Isn't that the same as GGG willing to drop down to 154, to fight the welterweight Floyd?

Golovkin fans are running with that fallacy doe. That's why you have to use phrases like "in so many words"Originally posted by Dirk Diggler UK View PostHe was 174lbs almost 3 weeks before the Smith fight which was at 172.
Stop seeing what you want to see.
After fighting Smith, Ward moved up to 175.

And how long ago was it that Ward last fought at 168?

Is it the same as Floyd? No, it's not in my mind. Ward has moved up from 168 to 175, and he has fought at 168 for a decade. Moving down would suck for him, but he has plenty of experience of making 168. Golovkin has not fought below 160 since he was a kid (20 or 21, forget).
Having said that, I have never, and will never give Floyd crap for not taking Golovkin fight. Golovkin is MUCH bigger than him naturally, and Floyd is under no obligation to take such a ridiculous fight. If he was to take a fight with Golovkin, I'll be happy for GGG for getting wide-audience exposure and at the same time will develop even more respect for Floyd.

The Ward "offer" was never serious. What serious person gives someone a callout not now, "but but but next year doe"? LMAO

You should judge a fighter at the weight he's fighting.
