Ward's last meaningful fight was in September, 2012, against a weight-drained, overrated Chad Dawson. His most recent fights were against class c & d fighters Edwin Rodriquez & Paul Smith! It will be 2016 in 2 weeks! I just don't understand this ongoing claim that Ward is somehow the marque in boxing, that other boxers need to beat in order to be relevant.

My problem with GGG is that he's shown more of a willingness to fight smaller guys moving up than a willingness to fight the bigger guys, especially when it comes to Ward. And that's just not cool.

As for his comp, it is what it is. There aren't any exciting options for him at middleweight, outside of Canelo. And if GGG wants to stay there, fine. But, it takes a very long stretch of divisional dominance to become a top P4P guy. Especially when the division is weak. The most recent example that comes to mind is Calzage at super middleweight. He dominated that division for a decade before he started to be recognized as a P4P guy. And even then, he still had to move up and beat Hopkins before being truly excepted as a bonafide elite.

After fighting Smith, Ward moved up to 175.

After fighting Smith, they offered Golovkin the fight at 168.
