And for the idiots that don't understand, Its not about Monroe's style, Its not about him being lazy, and its not just about him losing. Sure he lost. But he gave quite a good showing of himself in there. He wasn't overly defensive and he took the fight to Golovkin. The reason he probably doesn't get any calls is because he's stuck in the middle. Hes too good to be a tune up or a gatekeeper type, but hes not a champion and he has very little to offer. The reason he's in this predicament is that he took the Golovkin fight. Was a bad fight to take tbh. And then he performed above what was expected, which makes it even worse.

I know Willie is loyal to upstate NY but maybe he needs to go to a celebrity boxing trainer. Having his name attached to a Joel Diaz, Garcia, Mayweather, or Roach might help him get fights.

The bigger issue is fans (us) penalize fighters so badly for losing that taking a risk is not worth it. When you lose a fight it's harder to get on a network, harder to sell tickets, harder to get a fight let alone a title shot and you get put on the shelf.

Networks needs to sell opponents to the public. How would they look putting one of their golden goose's against a guy with a record of 25-6-2? That just looks bad even if the 6 losses are against 6 elite fighters.

Even ShoBox is now promoting its fight cards as "6 fights, 6 undefeated fighters".

But it's great he has an education to fall back on.

Actually I'm happy for him. He fought the champ and made money to use for himself and move on to his next part of his life.
