Many boxers would agree that victory as an underdog makes a win that more satisfying. The ability to prove people wrong and gain new followers underlines all the hard work done in preparation for the bout. That was certainly the case on November 28 when Adrian Granados travelled to Canada to face favourite and touted future champion Amir Imam on Showtime Extreme. Many saw this as a straightforward fight for Imam who carried a high ranking in three of the four major governing bodies, and after the first round you would have been forgiven for thinking that the general consensus was correct. Granados, however, had other plans. [Click Here To Read More]

Too many people are wined, dined, woefully seduced by unbeaten fighters with some power. People even said the top fighters would avoid him with no proof of that. Are people so damned blind they cannot see Amir has ZERO defense????? He cannot block a punch if his life depends on it! How did anyone miss the fact that he has the defensive prowess of a statue????? Some Russian contender recently that has gotten people high on him has even worse defense if you can imagine that. I will never be sold on a fighter that simply cannot block a punch.Last edited by richardt; 12-16-2015, 11:34 AM. -
I knew Granados was gonna pull off the upset, Granados aint never been bullied and after I seen him go toe to toe with Soto Karass and beat him in BKB I knew he started coming into his own. Was a great fight interested in seeing who he fights next, War Granados!Comment

Matthysse loses a close fight in a fouling, clinch-fest to the number 1 fighter (very tall, problematic guy for 140 btw) and some people flip out and dog Matthysse.
Those same folks trolling Lucas, talking about how Amir Imam is the best at 140 and how he'd beat everyone from Crawford to Postol................loses to some journeymen.

Granados is gonna be a problem for anyone at 140 and even 147. I'd like to see him stick to 140 for now and maybe fight OrozcoComment

Ya, I agree. I checked this kid out before the Imam fight and was actually suprised at the level of competition he had fought and had given a good account of himself even in his L's. Still thought Imam was going to win, but that is how it goes lol. I don't see this guy as a champion, but certainly will be a handful for most guys at 140.Comment
