GGG is on a mission to get all the middleweight belts. Lara doesn't have one. GGG will be trying to get fights with belt holders Jacobs, Canelo and the Lee-Saunders winner. Why is Lara only calling out GGG? Why isn't Lara calling out the other 154 pound and 160 champions just as loud as he is calling out GGG? I find that strange. Why is Lara defending his title against nothing but unranked mediocre fighters since losing to Canelo? Who has Lara defeated who is worth a damn in the last two years to make him a top contender to fight GGG?
Good.
I would rather watch Roy Jones and James Toney fight right now, then watch GGG vs Lara.
Lara is campaigning at 154, he is not a KO artist at that weight. So he isn't going to have the power to keep GGG honest.
Also, Lara will fight like the Canelo fight. NOBODY wants to go thru that hell again. I rather watch Floyd vs Manny, till I fall asleep.
I cannot see how anyone can consider Lara some challenge. He struggles against anyone decent. He only looks good against lower tier fighters.
I cannot remember 1 fight where Lara looked good against good opposition except Trout. That is not saying much LOL
Well Trout did beat Cotto, and some, who I don't agree with, say he beat Canelo. He was also supposedly ducked and avoided before Canelo beat him. So that is saying something.
Lara also dominated Williams, who was good oppoisition. Many fans, again who I don't agree with, had Lara beating Canelo.
Lara looking good against lower tier fighters puts him at least as Golovkin's equal. Because Golovkin is no different, other than all he has ever fought is lower tier fighters, so we don't know what he looks like at the top level, we do know what Lara looks like at the top level.
Do you feel that Lara would be Golovkin's best opponent to date? Or do you think that Golovkin has already fought someone better than Lara. If so, who?
It seems unlikely this fight comes off. I might be in the general minority but Lara is a name and can be a spoiler, I think it would be a good name on GGG resume assuming he wins.

Well I had Trout beating Canelo, and Lara basically holding even with him. Now to many that might sound impressive, but I think little of Canelo also LOL. His soul advantage is his size advantage in fights. That is it to me. I cannot see Lara, Trout or Canelo lasting against GGG. The style that will trouble GGG is a fighter who can crowd him and can take a punch. Canelo seems sturdy, but he will eat GGG's shots at a distance. Trout and Lara are not the type to trouble him. They may last a few rounds till he gets their mannerisms down, but they will get caught also. Ward is the guy who could have been too much for GGG

Trout gets stopped by GGG definitely. I don't know what is it with Trout, whether he has regressed or everyone is just getting better faster than he is. I was never sold on Trout.
Canelo goes all 12 with GGG, that fight will end in decision. Lara also goes all 12 with GGG. Canelo and Lara have their flaws, but nothing in GGG's wins tell me anything about how GGG would do vs higher tier guys. The best fighter GGG has fought so far was Murray who lasted 11 rounds, which I had known was going to happen. I knew Murray would be "durable" to an extent and get stopped late. So far that still holds true, Murray has been the most durable guy GGG has fought. Canelo and Lara surpass Murray in that not only will they go 12 but they will be competitive. I disagree that all Canelo has is size, he has good defense, good upper body movement and he is aware of the combinations he throws and covering up/defending while he is on the attack. Canelo is not a wreckless guy, he knows what he's doing in there from I can tell. Lara too, that's why they fought to a stalemate.
That was not my question. I did not ask what belt did Lemuex have, did I? So who's the dummy?
YOU are the dummy. You went on and on and on about Lemieux losing to Rubio 5 years ago, and Alcine, and blah blah blah like it had anything to do with anything. Here's the news..... Lemieux got the GGG fight for ONE reason, and ONE reason only. He had the IBF belt. None of his other qualifications (or lack thereof) mattered. He had the title dummy. End of story.
