Andy Lee is the definition of a gatekeeper. He poses no challenge to any elite level boxer. Honestly, most b level boxers would beat him. Id rather see him fight Jacobs as opposed to Golovkin. A much more even fight and it helps clear up the division.

That's not the definition of gatekeeper. A gatekeeper is typically someone above journeyman status, maybe even someone who forever seems to hang around contender status, who if you beat leads to a title fight or bigger fights. Lee isn't really either of those things especially considering he's a champion.
I agree any elite fighter should be able to handle him though and he's good enough to beat a lot of contenders and good prospects for sure.
Not sure why Jacobs vs Lee would help clear up the division either. Jacobs is the "regular" WBA champion, Golovkin the Super WBA champion/IBF champion and Lee the WBO champion. Golovkin beating Lee would have three of the four belts in one hand meaning one fight away from a true unified champion. Jacobs vs Lee doesn't help accomplish that at all (probably makes it even more difficult to unify if Jacobs were to win).Last edited by ИATAS; 12-15-2015, 09:07 PM.Comment
