Martinez, Cotto & now Canelo have all avoided GGG & GGG has been mandatory for literally years now. Its a embarrassing situation. Either you want to fight the mandatory or you don't & need to lose your belt or you want your title shot or you don't & need to lose your mandatory. One of those situations should have come to a head by now.
oh I dont disagree with your premise at all, I'm only saying that K2 has went along with this every step of the way. They have had at least 3 occasions where they could have put their foot down, but understanding the ridiculous way boxing is operated these days, knew their better option was to try and play ball.

As for other challengers coming up, unlike the IBF, the WBC does not have a set process for becoming the mandatory challenger. Its pretty much up to the board of directors, which is why quite a few challengers ranked in the top 10 by the WBC end up fighting for other titles in the IBF, WBA, and WBO instead, because they get tired of waiting.......

We all know the answer to that because they knew Canelo would of trashed that belt so quick. GGG has no leverage and this fight will be on Canelo's terms or not at all. GGG already decided we will dance to Canelo's beat because if he simply wanted the belt he would of told the WBC no.
K2 getting rapped because they didn't get step aside fee from cotto that WBC signed off for the cotton-cinnamon fight to happen first time, step aside for the cotto-Martinez fight to happen that WBC approved of and now stepping aside again for cinnamon to get a voluntary defense in to build a fight bigger that can't get no bigger then what it already is now, especially with GGG-Johnson more then likely fight for him and cinnamon insert a ww he trying move up to mw with hope of negotiations happening after cinnamon fight done on May 8th which goes back to WBC giving 15 day window like this time for them to agree and if it goes to purse bid cinnamon dropping belt he not fighting him at full 160

Despite what the GGG haters say, the WBC was prepared to take action

whats funny so many of you boxing experts don't get the game. Of course it's happening. Too much money. They have a deal. They are drumming up controversy because it sells. Umm, isn't that how manny/Floyd got so big. Come on.

The WBC has answered everything on Twitter. They believe Canelo wants to fight GGG.

Canelo says he wants to fight GGG.

As for the purse split, none of these haters can read.

Goldenboy has said the WBC will decide this issue and they will live with it.

We have the weight question, my guess 157-158.

It will be in Texas, likely where GGG will fight next to become more known to Canelo's fan base.

        September it is.

        Stop talking dumb.

GGG would be fighting Canelo next if Goldenboy wanted it. Are you really that gullible?

How is it your boy is too big for 154.

        And too scared for 160.

And Floyd is talking about Canelo v. Khan.

        Let's get real now.

I don't have any reason to doubt canelo wants to and will fight GGG. Canelo has shown to be that kind of dude, and he's promoted by Oscar who also ducked no one. They aren't your "Al Haymon types".

And don't let anyone lie to you canelo is a closer to the same size as GGG than they lead on. Just look at the last "tales of the tape" for each if them. Damn near identical.

Would Canelo's fanbase decline if he chooses to fight a voluntary and then vacate? I mean that bull**** excuse "he da a side doe" can only work if the fight is going to happen. Aside from the delusional ones on here and crybaby ward fans i'd think he'd lose some sort of shine in the spot light unless they actually plan on going the mayweather-pacquiao route.

As much as i dislike canelo, i think your absolutely right. But can GoldenBoy afford to let GGG ko their golden goose? GGG is literally the only big ppv fight out there for canelo as well. I dont see anybody else they can hype up for a big fight and put it on ppv

Cotto/Canelo and this fight was said to be "next" but now here we are with the promise of once again "next"...

Canelo has a perfect out. His team is already saying the fight happens in Sept if GGG agrees to concessions. Namely weight and the purse split. If the fight doesn't happen Canelo can say he didn't agree to my demands and it goes to purse bid and Canelo drops the belt and goes on to fight anybody he wants. His fanbase won't turn on him he's already fought Trout, Mayweather, Lara and Cotto. His record proves he has fought everyone fans have asked or said he wouldn't. Who has GGG fought? I believe more fans will put the blame on GGG if he refuses to go down a few pounds to fight Canelo or go up in weight to fight Ward. I mean Canelo had to do this to fight Floyd and had to sacrifice the lion share of the purse to both Cotto and Floyd. Ward is going up to fight Kovalev. That's where GGG hurts himself if he stays firm at 160 and loses out on this fight who has he beaten so far? Why does he say he will go down to 154 to fight Floyd but not go down less pounds to fight Canelo when he has replaced Floyd as the new cash cow in boxing? Why does he say he will go to 168 to fight Chavez Jr but requests a catchweight of 164 for Ward with the only explanation that he's the A side and ward must fight him on his terms. But when Canelo says the same to him he refuses? There is no debate that Canelo is more the A side to GGG then GGG is to Ward.

Canelo does not need GGG for money or his legacy. He's 25 and has already done more then GGG has. The fight not happening in 2016 hurts GGG more then Canelo. And Golden Boy knows it and more importantly so does K2.
