you actually believe that wbc would have done that for any other boxer that doesnt bring big money to the table??
when was the last time the MW mando had his title shot for the wbc belt???

I'd be more understanding of the WBC stripping Canelo after their 15 day talks than I was of Fury being stripped of his IBF title after a week.

Random question for anyone, has any boxer been mandatory for 3 different champions in a row like GGG has? Maybe this is more common or not as epicly uncommon than I think it is, but I'm honestly not recalling this type of situation before.
the key words there are "the sides have agreed to". Whether or not we would have like to have seen K2 hold the WBCs feet to the fire, they didnt do it. They made step-aside deals. They accepted Cotto-Geale, Cotto-Canelo, and now Canelo-???

One can argue that maybe they shouldnt have. But nonetheless, despite their mandatory position throughout all this, they felt the better option was making deals and hoping for the fight at some point. So if they, as mandatory challenger, are agreeing to it, why would the WBC object?

Floyd made Canelo fight at a catchweight. Oscar made Floyd leap up an entire weight class to fight him. Oscar to get the Chavez fight had to agree to move up to 140 Chavez weight and fight a tune up fight on his undercard. For Hopkins to fight Oscar had to agree to a catchweight and fight on his undercard in a tune up. For Cotto to get the pacquaio fight had to agree to a catchweight. Marquez had to fight Pacquaio at whatever weight and catchweight Pacquaio wanted for all 3 of their rematches. Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Hopkins, Canelo, Marquez all had to agree to sacrifice weight to fight the biggest draws in the game. They all had to agree to somebody elses terms or the fight wouldn't happen. And all had a bigger fanbase when they did it then GGG. So why isn't it fair for GGG to do the same? Especially after he put his foot in his mouth by saying he can make 154 easy for a fight with Floyd and has demanded that if Ward wants to fight him he has to come down at a catchweight and agree to all his terms? But he can't do the same for Canelo when he already said he can make 154?

Listen 155 is too much and is not realistic but this fight is going to happen at a catchweight likely 157 or 158 or it won't happen at all. And GGG has no leverage or say in the matter. Other fighters who accomplished more and had a bigger fanbase then GGG had to go out of their comfort zone either go up or down in weight to get the big fights.

Sorry GGG fans but Canelo and Golden Boy have all the leverage. GGG can take the deal that's offered and get a career payday. Or he can hold firm and Canelo can drop the belt so GGG can pick it up fighting a nobody for peanuts or delay the fight another year or two when he gets older and older while Canelo enters his physical prime. His choice.

Cuz its a potential bottleneck in the mandatory position. You got a guy who's not getting or wanting his shot & the guy who's behind him is getting his own mandatory position opportunity pushed back further & further & further. Or at least I'd assume thats happening or something is happening like that. Granted you may not give a f#ck about that guy, but its unfair to him all the same.

Martinez, Cotto & now Canelo have all avoided GGG & GGG has been mandatory for literally years now. Its a embarrassing situation. Either you want to fight the mandatory or you don't & need to lose your belt or you want your title shot or you don't & need to lose your mandatory. One of those situations should have come to a head by now.

The fight is not happening. Not in 2016 anyway. Cowards at Golden Boy.

They say "it took 6 years to make the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight" as if they were in negotiations for 6 years. That fight took 6 years because Manny didn't want to be tested, then he wanted a 24 day cut-off, then Manny's cuts weren't healed, then Bob Arum needed an outdoor stadium. If Canelo and GGG are in agreement of the weight, the split, and the venue, then the fight could happen in May 2016. What (or who) is the hold up?
