people dont realize Roy Jones isnt fighting to prove it to himself, he's fightin' INNER DEMONS from his CHILDHOOD to prove to his FATHER that he can be what his FATHER instilled in him as a jit(child)
the gift and the curse of pushing your child to be SO competitive on one hand to become GREAT and become the one of if not the most physically gifted boxer the world has ever seen to create in a jit the burning desire to prove his father wrong and at the same time make his stern pops proud of him and to get acknowledgement and approval he didnt get as a seed. thats whats driving Roy Jones Jr. i hate to see my boy get his ass whooped by c class fighters that he wouldve absolutely annihilated in his prime bc he's about 13 YEARS past the latter stages of his prime after the FIRST tarver fight where he drained himself back down to light heavyweight from heavyweight but the burning desire wont let him quit. still one of my top 6 fav fighters of All-Time and the best physical specimen in boxing besides a Prime Muhammad Ali BEFORE the ban i have EVER had the pleasure to lay eyes on.
thank you for the memories Roy Jones Jr aka Captain Hook

Damn It, Roy. Hang them up before something tragic happens.
Not to be funny but it almost seems like he welcomes serious injury or even death inside the ring. Purely speculation but perhaps boxing is all Roy has and he'd rather die without it.....

Let Roy have a farewell fight against one of the worst fighters out there, and then retire on a win. But of course he should have retired years ago. Health obviously gets worse with the punishment that he's taking. Sad to see.

I'm seriously starting to believe that Roy is depressed. It's a shot in the dark at this point, but what else could it be? Either that, or he has a metric ****-ton of debt to pay off. Smh

I can't disagree with what you saying, matter of fact you probaly are on point, but geez, when you dam near fifty and have kids of your own you have to own that pain and don''t pass that shiat to your kids or become self destructive.......I think he's totally being self-destructive. I think being superman most of his boxing career, he just can't come terms that he is Clark Kent and he'll never be able to fly in the clouds again.

if roy's hometown of russia cares about him at all they need to stop him from fighting. don't sanction him to fight again.

anybody who hasn't watch roy vs enzo mac needs to watch it. then watch roy in his prime. this is what boxing does to people. roy thinks he's still got it.

the guy that was arguably the most talent boxer ever has been reduced to russian citizenship to get fights sanctioned. boxing sucks.

unfortunatel,y there are people and countries that are willing to make money off of roy jones doing irreperable damage to himself.

he doen't need money. he still thinks he's got it. that's a scary, scary prospect.

This is the arrogance of a man who can no longer do what he enjoyed. Absolute arrogance. He's the only person in the world who still refuses to face the truth.
