Nobody expected Golovkin to get Alvarez into the ring before Sept '16, it's the fact that team Golovkin is now deviating from their original plan of staying busy. Now they're compromising themselves on the chance Alvarez will fight them in September. K2 is putting more faith/emphasis on the possible Alvarez/Golovkin press tour to elevate Golovkin's profile over taking multiple fights.

I agree, but with the timetable they probably didnt want to get into a Wilder-Povetkin thing where GGG maybe fights in Feb and then late may or june and then Canelo wants yet another voluntary and it just goes on and on. So it is what it is, the better of 2 bad options......

DiBella is working with Haymon for some time now. Quillin Jacobs as well as Lee Saunders are both promoted by DiBella and (unofficially of course) Al Haymon. Both cards were/will be on Showtime. So you can take an educated guess who Lee is going to fight if he wins.

Saunders already stated he needed another 18 months to be ready for GGG.

yeah, Saunders made it quite clear that he doesnt even want to be in the same area code as GGG. If Lee wins, I'd say K2 has maybe a 40% chance to make that fight, and 60% Dibella makes Lee-Jacobs. By this time next week we ought to have an idea whats what.......
