if the reason to delay the fight is to make it at 160 in september, then he needs to fight someone like murray at 160 to test the waters, if they are planing on a CW on september, then maybe someone like andrade who is desperate for a payday...

Of course, it will be at a catch weight. Why do you think they didn't mention it at the conference call?

It has to be a top 15 WBC contender right? Look at the rankings it should be clear.

My guess is Jorge Sebastian Heiland the #1 contender.

I hope to god we don't see PAC-Bradley 3............. Disgusting fight.

Canelo has a lot of options. All good names and winnable.

His other choices are bringing up a SWW to fight at 155 but his options there are also limited. I have a feeling they'll shoot for the winner of Clottey/Rosado. Oscar tried to sell Clottey/Canelo to Showtime for $4mil back in 2014 but Showtime wasn't having it and GBP left for HBO.

Canelo's weight demands and Oscar's refusal to work with PBC is going to make it hard for him to find a credible opponent for his next fight. But I guess if people accepted Canelo/Kirkland they'll accept Clottey/Rosado.
You answered your own post, so why even ask?

"Canelo" Alvarez Is Oscar's only marketable fighter at this point, Oscar has no real other ins to big HBO money, and Oscar has been following the Bob Arum model since he's taken over his company on his own (doing everything to either keep fights in-house or with Top Rank/HBO).

If Canelo Alvarez is left with only having to pick through the WBC's top 15 challengers at 160, he's likely to be fighting either Michael Soro or Jorge Sebastian Heiland. If the WBC gives him an exception to fight whomever (as long as they are rated by them at 160/541), you can add Clottey/Rosado winner and Charles Hatley (beat Mundine at 154).
