There was a point in the fight where Kauffman seemed to be taking over, was walking Arreola down and punishing him. Had he stayed on the gas pedal he couldn't forced the KO/TKO. To Arreola's credit, he didn't fold under pressure and fought his way back into the fight.

That said, I'd like to see Kauffman back on PBC against someone like Breazele, Mansour or Stiverne

But bringing in genes for Arreola' shape is a bad excuse. Arreola's shape happened because of Arreola. Have you seen how he looked in the amateurs? He let HIMSELF go. Genes go out the window in his case. Dude let his own damn self go.

You can't look at this video of him at 178lbs and tell me that the way he looks now is because of genes. Look how lean he looks, he could have taken another route to build weigh, like for example, build muslce weight instead of fat.

Look how skinny he is, if you look like that at any point of your life, you can not tell me that he had no potential of becoming ripped. You are saying he can never become ripped but his body type in this video when he was younger in the 2000s indicate that he definitely could have looked in better shape had he taken his career and diet more serious.
      Good find.

That video pretty much blows the genetics excuse out of the water, at least when it comes to Arreola. The guy was tall and skinny in his youth...had he been disciplined with his diet and workouts there is no way he would look like he does today.

He should have gotten another trainer at some point too. He had decent skills but never really built on them or improved.

Dude was looking like Paul Williams at 20 years old and then people wanna talk about it's cause of genetics that he's fat

The thing with arreola is he cant slim down, he only damaging himself its a catch 22 situation.

He slims down and ups his stamina but hurts his punch resistence (it takes years for that fluid in your brain to assimilate to the new weight change) or he stays fat and keeps his punch resistence but loses his stamina.

HES DONE! he put himself in that situation.

Ah..........glad I missed this schit card actually. Out of shape boxers being hyped up as something they are not and getting shady, blatantly corrupt decisions to substantiate the false hype. Got to love the "future of boxing" as some have described that venture.

Look at this fat tub. He turned himself into a beast....not speculating on how he did it but it is obvious that he naturally accumulates fat and has a big frame. If you put in the time and work, you can get ripped, even if genes are working against you.

Arreola needs to train in between fights, all year long and the weight will come off. The problem is he doesn't do that, he splurges when not training for a fight so any gains he made prior to the fight get erased as soon as the fight is over.

What I'm saying is that Arreola, like many other fighters, will never look ripped and chiseled because it's not in his genes. I always use this one guy as an example, Juan Diaz.

Juans Diaz was an unbelievably dedicated champion. He fought in a style that was the toughest cardio wise. He ran, ate well, did everything a pro boxing champ needed to do and yet, he wasn't chiseled. GENETICS my friend, GENETICS.

Arreola came in the lowest weight of his fighting career. EVER, and yet still looked like **** because he isn't that good. That was my point, he can lose the weight, he can eat rice cakes and panda farts for 8 weeks, it won't help him.
Anyone can get ripped. This is a false equivalency...once your body gets down to a certain fat/muscle ratio you look ripped it's not that complicated. I always thought Diaz could've gone from a really good lightweight to a dominant featherweight with some better nutrition/strength training. It's not about cardio fitness it's about strength conditioning combined with Cardio. I'm 6'2" Mexican and accumulate fat similarly to Diaz when I was 230-240 I looked that way. I have a wide frame broad shoulders long torso and big legs. When I cut down under 200 I could see lot of definition easy as that. If you look closely Arreola doesn't have a wide frame and has skinny legs for a guy his size. IMO he is a natural cruserweight. But that would require constant dedication throughout the years...

Wrong, not everyone can get ripped. Genetics are real, and they matter. The Rock said that he had lypo done on his chest because no matter how hard he worked out, and how good he ate he couldn't get rid of the fat under his chest.

He said it comes from his Polynesian side.

Boxing is not a body building contest. Just look at Tyson Fury (against Klitschko); he's in tremendous shape but he's not 'ripped' or overly muscular..
