The WBC ruling is funny: what happens in case Canelo gets beat next? The "new" WBC and the Ring champ would start everything from square one?

I'd bet dinner he's going to fight a slob so losing is an unlikely proposition.....

well my initial guess is that they would inherit Canelos obligation to face GGG next. But canelo could throw enough money at them for a rematch that they dump the title instead (ala Fury-Klitschko)

I'm pretty sure ggg is being compensated behind the scene from GNP/canelo camp to accept a mandatory match. Ggg will fight Johnson in the spring, canelo will have an easy fight in spring too. They will negotiate during the fall to fight or canelo will vacate. Quote me on that. There is no way ggg camp isn't doing all these without being compensated behind the scenes. He's the one with the leverage after all...easy money...

Canelo getting stripped is in his best interests, Canelo loses a belt and Cotto doesn't look so bad for having no intentions of facing Golovkin.

And no, I'm not the least bit surprised that the WBC went back on their word about the Cotto/Alvarez winner having to fight Golovkin next. They aren't "We Be Crooks" for no reason.
