I retired from promoting almost 5 years ago. And interestingly enough, one of the reasons (although not the defining one) was that there are too many "businessmen" and too few fighters these days.......

Thats true also but all but that was a different time. With Floyd protecting his 0 and labeling someone as a who after they lose, put that same concept into peoples minds.

I guess I'm an old timer, because I like guys with a loss or two, or twelve, who come back stronger. Farmer and Salido types. It takes the protected stamp off. Lots of these zeros are really unimpressive considering how it's done. No crying, that's a give. Once a guy cries about losing, he really did do his best, he's not going to get any better. Garcia choose a fighter with 3 loses but thats a horrible cherry pick and hes a bum. Thats what i mean and what Garcia means. These fights have to build to get the money cause in boxing, unfortunately, 3 or 4 loses means you are done at the top level.

After Danny beat Mattyhsee he was supposed to move to 147 and fans and media were calling him the next superstar and ready to face the top p4p fighters in the world. Ready to face the top guys at 147. That was 2 1/2 years ago and he STILL aint fought a top welterweight and is fighting a washed up Guerrero who if not for a robbery in his last fight would be winless in 2015. Was dropped in all the fights he had in 2015. Before that went life and death with a journeyman bum in Kamegai. Before that took a year off boxing. You have to literally go back to 2012 to find the last time Guerrero looked good in the ring. And this is who Danny is fighting? After fighting a featherfisted washed up Paulie no less. Stop trying to put lipstick on a pig. Stop hanging your hat on he's got 3 losses ignoring the fact he hasn't looked good in 3-4 years. Danny should NOT be fighting guys like Guerrero at this stage of his career, he should be fighting top guys at 147 which Guerrero is not.
