Technically possible but highly improbable MMA will get the same level of sponsorship that golf would get given the same level of popularity for a given star. MMA has to work that much harder to reap the same benefits of a sport that has been around since the 15th-century. This is all assuming he keeps winning for a long time and dominating other weight classes.

Are you slow? I said through endorsements, yes Conor could indeed surpass Floyd in career earnings quite easily. Rousey already makes ridiculous amount through her's that's blows away her fight contract. McGregor hits both the US & European markets very strongly and has the potential go global with demand.

And for your information, McGregor just discussed with Ariel Helwani in the post-fight interview, that's he's reached an agreement with the UFC for a 9-figure salary.

There's certainly an opportunity for McGregor to make lots of money.

I don't think the UFC generates anywhere near as much money as boxing. But it does pretty well for a sport that is basically in its infancy.

The irony about Ronda was her head coach for MMA is really just a boxing coach(hence why Ronda was focusing on boxing mostly) whereas Holly Holm was a boxer who was training at the best MMA gym on the planet for years.

              I don't get it.

I enjoy some MMA now and again, but I'm a big McGregor fan. He has worked on everything to be a more complete fighter, but he wants to stand and fight and he's great to watch. He's aggressive, he can counter, his body control and footwork are very impressive...

Factor in the charisma and personality and I don't see what you can dislike.

I know, right? It's hard to keep up with their latest flavor of the month since it changes so often.

Is this guy their "greatest featherweight of all time" now? He's won a whopping 18 fights and that is usually enough for them to get anointed as legends of the sport.

                  Negative

Rousey gave us an idea of where the glass ceiling lies as far as sponsorship goes for superstar fighters in mma

Not saying Conor can't exceed Ronda but he'll never exceed or for that matter even get close to the money Floyd has made.

Because the top guys regularly face each other. An alien concept in boxing admittedly.

No I'm not slow. I understood exactly what you said abd I'm saying it's not probable at all. I don't even think you understand what you are saying. But even with endorsements, there's little to no chance of it happening. Floyd is an anomaly. He makes more than guys like LeBron James, endorsements included and, u think Conner will have that potential? From what? A shoe deal? Clothing line? Video game deal? What?
