After the fight Kavanaugh said no more 145lbs, but then at the post-fight press conference McGregor said he'll go after the 155lbs title, but that he would keep the 145lbs and go back and forth defending them. He emphasized that he would not vacate the 145lbs title. Somewhere out there, Frankie Edgar started doing the happy dance.

The UFC/MMA can't even stand on it's own. Boxing fans have to be inundated with fighting irrelevancies every time Dana White decides to put on a show. Why the **** is this, seriously? Before this we had to endure Rousey threads about that bag of jello beating Floyd, and members here sat on their unwashed ****s and took it.

Why do we have these threads here? Should they go in the section assigned this stuff so they can kind of just sit with two or three people posting in them?

You can move up the ladder quickly in the UFC because its not nearly as competitive because its a new sport and therefore guys off the street can jump in and within a few years be great. If that's your thing fine, but I'd rather see elite skill.

In boxing you need 10+ years to have a chance at the elite level.

yeah it's ridiculous. i thought this aldo guy was supposed to be pound-for-pound, even ATG, level but he looked like an amateur. in 13 seconds he made more mistakes than a novice boxer from your local gym would make over 12 rounds

Overstated. I'm not defending aldo or anything, but what really happened is a guy came in after a long layoff, tried to start too fast without feeling out his opponent and got caught cold. He probably could have taken similar punches in round 2 or 3.
