That goes without saying. I'm only suggesting that the ground work is there for these things to be a future possiblity. The other poster suggested that because McGregor is an MMA athlete that it would forever limit his potential, I strongly disagree. In terms of what you said about Rousey - there is no ceiling, only stages. Her brand even defeat continues to grow. If she comes back and wins the rematch she'll see new and greater opportunities.

Types of endorsements come from everywhere these days. Last night they started playing Luke Rockhold commercials for Ethanol! Floyd because of his domestic violence history never was able to tap into the commercial endorsement market, otherwise he may have more than doubled his career earnings.

Michael Jordan is actually the gold standard. He was making $30mill/year with the Bulls at the end, but well over $100mill per year from his endorsement deals. If Floyd had the level of endorsements that Jordan did, his ppv numbers would've actually grew aswell from the public exposure. So yes, McGregor can eclipse Floyd. Not saying he will, as you pointed out he needs to keep winning, but it's definitely possible.

Remember how the UFC put on Ronda Drowsey vs Cyborg? Coutoure vs Fedor, Fedor vs Brock, Silva vs Jones, Silva vs GSP? I could go on and on. The UFC does not co-promote thus preventing great fights from happening. News flash, many UFC champs are former Strike Force champions......so it looks like the UFC didn't have the best. Or do you not think Ben Askren is the best welterweight MMA fighter in the world?

Interesting to hear the off air comments. He was completely right.

For a guy that's been there and done it so often, nerves are something you sometimes don't factor in but this was a totally different level of fight and event. McGregor was in his head and it took less than 15 seconds for him to make a mental blunder.

he might not have been a bum.....but he sure fought like a novice, his striking strategy was a joke.

Still he was the p4p#1 ufc fighter and the goat FW and was taken out in 13 sec. Conor is just to much for that weight class. Hes like the Margarito or Paul Williams size wise for that division. I think Conor started out as a boxer first before mma.

I have never seen such an ignorant and bias community of boxing fans in my life. You'd think you guys would be happy how well the UFC is doing now. Damn near every PPV they've had this year were sold-out events. I see some of you guys saying its not a real sport, not worldwide like boxing, and not a real man sport. It's really pathetic watching you guys get jealous like this. Don't worry boxing is still on top but should be buried by next year LOL. Everyone is afraid to fight everyone. UFC has delivered quality fights to the fans for the past 3 years, and I don't see boxing (and their sanctioning bodies) making up for this anytime soon.

Are you slow? I said through endorsements, yes Conor could indeed surpass Floyd in career earnings quite easily. Rousey already makes ridiculous amount through her's that's blows away her fight contract. McGregor hits both the US & European markets very strongly and has the potential go global with demand.

And for your information, McGregor just discussed with Ariel Helwani in the post-fight interview, that's he's reached an agreement with the UFC for a 9-figure salary.

Lol he's not getting a 9 figure pay day.
