    • If Joshua's counter-punching was that good, he should've had Whyte out of there a lot earlier considering how open Whyte was. Defence from both men was awful.

      • Seems like people have done with Joshua the same thing they are doing with Beterbiev, where they are assuming both men can do what Lomachenko or Rigondeaux have done and think they are failures if they can't. Joshua is still stepping up and he needs experiences like this to get better.

        • Just watched the fight and was not impressed with Joshua.Big power and decent hand speed with both hands, but other than that, not much.

No head movement, little mobility and footwork, bad stamina, doesn't seem to be that advanced strategically.

          • he's huge, athletic, and he can punch.

the division would be a heck of a lot more interesting if everybody wasn't unathletic, and out of shape. trust.

              • I didn't watch the fight yet. Actually, several people responding didn't watch it either. It wasn't even shown on US tv.

But in the heavyweight division, you don't have to be amazing to be one of the best.

I haven't seen enough of Joshua to know if he is great, but he is clearly one of the best heavyweights.

                • He has a lot of work to do. Wilder or Fury what destroy him at this point.

Whyte is nothing special. He's not rated outside of the UK and is very slow. And he gave AJ all he could handle and then some. AJ was slow on his feet as always and was getting lit up by Whyte's slow jab and combos. Imagine someone with the hand speed and feet of Wilder or Fury lighting him up.

That said if he can cut some bulk, work on his footwork and improve his head movement and jab he can be elite. He has the talent, just needs at least 5 more fights before he's world title ready

                    • He needs 18months -24 months / 5-10 more fights before thinking about world honors. What is the rush?

                      I would fight -

                      Price
                      Chisora
                      Whyte 2
                      Browne
                      Thompson

Possibly lose 7-9lbs of muscle. Then see where hes at.
