And If I'm to add BT Sports that would be £20 so to add another boxing channel no thanks there is too many channels, If we're to keep adding the average monthly bill of some would be well over £100 crazy.
I'm paying $130 for cable with Show and HBO, you pay about the same and you get your fights plus our fights, we get 1 or 2 UK fights a year. If anybody is winning, it's definitely you guys

        This channel would include the following ;

-live PBC fights (non-ppv) (dedicated days/times for all the different tiers of fights,ie championship fights on one night, prospect fights on another, contender fights, etc.)

-constant loops of boxing related videos, promos, news and info about fighters and fight times (when there are no live fights to be aired)

-replays of prior fights across the board (when there are no live fights to be aired)

-minimal ads (except for the Life-Alert ads, those are hilarious) since they make money from our sub anyway

keep in mind this is assuming haymon has cornered the market in a few years and all the decent to great fighters have joined him and his organization, also if the price is to steep for you keep in mind you no longer need to keep your showtime/hbo subs ($30+/mo) just for boxing, since PBC wont use either one

and lastly, would something like that even work in the first place?

        cast your opininon ,
I pay for showtime & hbo for what little boxing they do show so id say yes. I guess ill never move up out the ****** with my cablebill being so high but ill at least have boxing....

thats the thing tho,u wouldnt have to pay for SHO or HBO if they brought out a boxing channel

typically HBO and showtime combined are upwards of $30 - $35 a month (15 ea)

I see them, usually, at the top of cards but they're just as much in the business of building stars as boxing is and are fine with keeping around (and resigning) journeymen types like Josh Burkman and Chris Camozzi to make their stars look good and I don't see exceptional monthly cards. I've seen cards with Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva or Ronda Rousey headlining vs random dude/chick who has less than no chance to win. And there is no way I can believe that, in that model, a fight like Jacobs - Quillin, for boxing, wouldn't have been THE headliner. I see maybe 1-2 TRULY interesting cards out of about 5-6 and there's a ppv every month.
lol okay. I'm a boxing fan first, but I see more competitive fights on one UFC card than I see on any 10 boxing cards probably. I'm sure nearly anyone who's watching the UFC & boxing would attest to similar thats how wide the competitive fights put forth by each sport is.

And "boxing puts on fights, the UFC puts on events"? I think you're giving them way too much credit and not giving boxing enough.
This ain't really that complicated. Go watch some UFC events & go watch some big boxing PPV's. The UFC is going nuts from fight one. The boxing audience isn't even in the arena til an 30mins-1hr til the "big fight".

I love MMA, I've been watching it for more than 20 years (and I'm REALLY excited to see the Barboza-Ferguson fight that went on while I was watching the other card), been watching boxing for about 30 but I don't at all agree that the 'in-house' model which has worked in that sport can apply to boxing. It was easier for them, it was a newer sport and they branded it. I like the PBC and hope they continue and grow, but you can't suddenly brand a sport which had been around 2-300 years before you came along.
I've stated myself boxing is a harder nut to crack than MMA was (I believe its a fact that Dana White & the casino brothers were looking to do what they did to MMA in boxing first, but after some research felt it was a much harder & likely losing battle to do so). So I don't disagree with you there.

And without getting into some weird discussion about PBC or Haymon & all that I think boxing needs & will eventually get a format like virtually every other sport has with having all the best athletes able to compete with each other without all this bs involved in keeping fighters away from fighting each other between networks, promoters, managers, alphabet groups & hell now even PED testing labs can cause issues & I might be forgetting a couple things hurting making fights possible. There is just too much insulation between fighters & making fights nowadays & there is no reason for it to be there. Boxing is a circus & it needs to change. And the sport will be better when it does change. Don't even see how thats arguable tbh.

Personally I feel its inevitable that boxing will have an elite fighter league at some point. Boxing will continue to get smaller & smaller in this circus atmosphere we currently have, as it has overall despite some stars being bigger than ever, until it'll be possible for some entity to jump in & take over its so niche. Haymon is taking that risk right now. It could be too early for it. Maybe some group in another 5-10 years after Haymon fails tries again learning from Haymon's mistakes & in a smaller boxing world they succeed. I guess for me its so obvious to have this & its needed, that I just believe it'll happen sooner or later.
