Yeah but he fought Kirkland on regular HBO, Canelo vs GGG is a PPV fight, I think already confirmed that Pacquiao is fighting in April, haven't seen anyone posting that the MGM is booked for that weekend.

Been saying since day 1 what makes most sense is for canelo and ggg to agree to fight in sept. Sign a contract that guarantees GGG gets the fight in sept. Not a step aside fee with no guarantee for a later fight an actual contract for sept. Both guys take 1 fight in spring both guys get paid and now a ppv in Sept makes more money then if they fight now in may. Win win for everyone. It helps give GGG more time to increase his fanbase. Gives canelo time to move up weight and face a real middleweight. As long as these 2 fight next year it's cool with me if it happens in Sept instead of may. It's not like cotto where we all knew the fight was never going to happen at all. We waited over 5 years for Floyd to fight pac. I can wait 6 months. Both guys will still be in their prime in sept.

If Floyd and Pac rematch on Cinco de Mayo, Canelo will have to fight the next week just like he did this year.

Pac is fighting in April then going into his elections for his country so basically no way he fights Floyd or anyone else in may. And Floyd can't fight anyone else to make canelo move off the Mexican holiday dates. Canelo is too big now and the Mexican fans will support him on that date if he goes head to head with Floyd on that date. Floyds last fight did under 400k ppv. He has wore out his welcome with fans he does not call the shots on Mexican dates anymore.
