He hasn't fought in England much so he has lost momentum, but even against Diaz he had around 6000 ppl in Sheffield. Now compare that with other British fighters. Thing is Khan has a track record of selling big where as Kell does NOT. Khan can come back to base himself in England again and get back to it.

Whether you like Khan or not, please show some respect to people's religions.

Khan brings it in to it though. You don't hear Hopkins, Sturm, Huck or any other go on about it. It was the same with Hamed.

Its part of his religion and as a man I will never disrespect another man for his religion or beliefs so if he has to do ramadan and cant fight it is what it is.

Well Ramadan definitely handicapped him in terms of getting some fights. I always thought of boxing as a sport where you have to give 100% to it and nothing else. When you do boxing, you have to only do boxing. Boxing should be your religion. You pray to boxing. Who do you thank? Not allah/god, you thank your promoter, manager and network, and the paying fans.

You can be religious, just make sure worshipping an imaginary being isn't getting in the way of your boxing career, which is very real.

People (I'm sure you were one of them) were often upset that Khan would be getting booed or having rubbish thrown at him in UK arenas so I don't know what percentage of the people in the arena were actually part of his "fanbase"

This was even before him calling out Floyd/Manny. Characters like thack are an embodiment of that. Well, love or hate ppl bought those tickets for Amir to see him win/get sparked. How many PPV buys for Mayweather are to see him win?

Well that goes back to my point that he's never had much of a "fanbase" in terms of actual fans who pay to watch him fight. He doesn't take huge support to the States.

The Brook fight will sell because of the rivalry and maybe because people wanna see Khan get sparked out.

A PPV at 4/5 in the morning would not do as well here as a primetime PPV between two Brits in a grudge match.

I think you overestimate Khan's actual popularity here. Not as many people are going to stay up to watch him as they did Hatton.

I think back then Mayweather allowed Hatton to keep all the UK revenue which ended up being a bit of a balls up by Floyd as it did a million buys over here. He'd obviously ask for a significant cut of the UK PPV with Khan and would keep the lion's share, if not ALL of the US money.

these guys care about bottom lines and projections down the road. that's the sum of all revenue coming in, minus your expenses and taxes. Nevada state taxes are very, very low. i'm franklu not sure what kind of obligation khyan would have to the UK to pay taxes over there on money he made here. there's a reason why a lot of fights take place in nevada and texas.

it also considers what kind of long term impact a fight has on your career. floyd might knock khan out, but he's less likely to take the beating he'd take agains brook.

The reason he didn't take the fight has nothing to do with financials. It's all to do with getting beaten by a guy he doesn't like and ending his hopes of becoming a worldwide celebrity.
