Well, I don't go on match-ups persay. I rank 'em on their reigns more than anything else; and Big George made a total of 2 successful defenses in his first reign, one of which was a quality opponent and his second reign consisted of defenses against Axel Schulz, Lou Savarese, & Bobby Crabtree where Joe defended against Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Jimmy Ellis, and Muhammad Ali.

George was a monster; but he didn't reign long enough for me to rank him above Joe, regardless of his win over Frazier.

      always a Joe Frazier fan

I was always a Joe Frazier fan because of his style and courage. I never knew anything about his eye problem. Perhaps now we can understand why Joe had so much trouble slipping the jab, even with his bobbing and weaving. Also, fighting in close was another way to compensate for having only 1 good eye. I'm still reeling from this new info. It might take awhile for me to sort things out.

I don't know how anyone can rate Foreman over Frazier when Joe clearly had the better resume and beat the higher quality opposition. Does anyone here rank Tunney higher than Dempsey just because he beat him twice? Styles make fights and I would never rank one fighter over another in a historical sense just because of the outcome of one or two fights between the two.
