  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Pacquiao Passed, I Believe Khan-Brook Gets Done

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport has a very good feeling about a deal being reached for a 2016 domestic super bout between IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) and his division rival Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs).

Khan was in the running to face Manny Pacquiao in April. There were some discussions and a deal never happened. It appears Pacquiao will select WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley on Friday. Top Rank promote both Pacquiao and Bradley.

Finally! An intriguing fight, truly 50/50. It may be tempting to back Brook but I still think it's an even money fight.

Looking forward to this fight, Brook definitely has more in this than the bookies would have you believe. He is a well schooled fighter, who takes his time when in there, he is a good thinker. Khan is quicker with his hands but he doesn't exhibit a good brain when he a battle sometimes. Which makes this fight more intriguing.

Looks like Brook will get that big pay day he has been begging Amir for since, 2010-11 while doing absolutely jack outside beating one name. Soon, to be 36 fights, 35 bums. Khan who went out to America and fought tough names, win/lose every one at 140 lbs took wear and tear doing so.

Then again this is the biggest $ fight for Khan too, so I'm happy that King is making a big purse. Brook was always an insurance policy provided May-Pac didn't work out. Not a bad plan C.

It would be interesting to see the split for this.

          Getting your excuses in early...again.

I'm sure Khan is very glad you are 'happy' he is getting a payday as well. Maybe he will give you a VIP mini cab discount card (only applies to within Bolton postcode).

          You plum.

We all know based on track record that Brook may well pull out of the fight again as he has ducked countless opponents in the past, in this very manner. He's done that so much it has to be considered as the "norm" for him now.

Its funny how Hearn says Khan has ducked Brook so he can save himself for May/Pac, whereas Kell has ducked the whole division just so he can save himself for Khan.

Sucks that Arumbergstein talked Manny into doing whats best to line Arumbergsteins gold coffin with hundreds rather than doing a change of the guard fight....but now we get to see what Brook is made of and see him get worked.

Brook may be hard for Khan to hit, what with all the ducking he practiced all year against Brandon Rios and the like.
