Respect to Porter for putting his foot down on this fight.

I wonder what is the hold up. Neither fighter has an opponent lined up and Porter seems eager to fight. Its weird cause Thurman never came off as the ducking type in my opinion. Hope it happens. This will be an action packed fight that the welterweight division needs right now.

I'd be shocked if this fight doesn't happen at this point. Seems to me the hold-up is logistics and we'll hear an announcement within the next month or so. It's a good fight. Not necessarily a big one. Would be perfect for NBC or ESPN Saturday night but that might not be in the budget. CBS has the budget for it though. Will it be on there or Showtime?

I'm sure it will be on Showtime but not PPV. Yeah logistics holding up the process does make sense. Its crazy that fights that's on a lower scale are still difficult to make.

I really like Porter. He may not be the best @47 but he puts up a show, and can do it all: Box, pressure, exchange, his ring IQ is good, footwork, speed and power. Im not convinced about his chin but at most is "good".

Thurman on the other hand, good power but everything else is shaky.

Porter reminds me of Shane Mosley a bit...does have weaknesses but can spark you at any moment.

I just want this fight to be confirmed. First, it was supposed to be on December 12th...then it was supposed to be on January 23rd. Now I have no clue when it will be.

Thurman is the WBA "regular" champ and may have been elevated to "super" champ if he had fought in the last couple of months or so. I'm not sure what the WBA has done about the status of their super titles in comparison to what the WBC has done about their championships at 154 and 147, but we should be able to find out by the end of the year at the very least.

I like Porter but he knows damn well Thurman aint ducking him or having cold feet. The deal was done months ago the reason it's on hold is Haymon is trying to find a network to put this fight on. PBC getting terrible TV ratings has caused him move things around. Example Jacobs/Quillin was originally supposed to air on PBC. But they have been losing more money then expected so they shipped that fight to Showtime so they don't have to pay the high fighter purses. We have a seen a huge influx of Haymon A list fighters who fought the first half of the year on PBC now going back to Showtime or taking the rest of the year off. And the remaining PBC cards featuring a big drop off in star power. This is a domino effect of the bad ratings and PBC losing money on these cards. So Porter/Thurman which was leaked to the press months ago to air on PBC late this year is on hold either so Haymon can fit this on PBC next year under 2016's budget since they clearly have lost more money then they expected in 2015 or it will eventually move to Showtime all together like the Jacobs fight.

The fight will happen and the delay is not because of Thurman.

Keith Thurman doesn't want to fight Porter just talk a bit

Little mini midget Keith horse Tail Hair Thurman wants to talk boxing and talk greatness without actually fighting the best available contenders like Short Port. Comical funny looking dwarf Thurman is nothing but a wee man more fit for the yellow brick road in Oz than a title belt. Screw mini man Thur and get him a haircut.

Winner of this fight should fight Khan, Bradley or Brook. Buuuuuut I doubt it happens in Haymon land.
