PBC failed miserably by not having Jacobs-Quillen on free tv.

I understand that they both made 1.5 million and most likely they needed the showtime $ to make the fight happen but I think they failed by not having such a meaningful fight on Free tv after showcasing both guys numerous times over the last year.

Jacobs had a career defining victory and it could have been seen by many more people. The kid has a great story and seems like a good guy and a guy people would gravitate towards after watching Saturday night..

In a divison where a potential super fight with GGG or Canelo could loom in the future they should have showcased this fight to the casual "free" crowd.

Oh well, a lot of what they do makes no sense anyway.

ah its is what it is, you have obligations etc you have to fullfill. He has to provide showtime with x amount of championship fights per year and blah blah blah what is he supposed to do renig on that.

I dont care about the general public anymore when it comes to boxing, just give me the true boxing fan who been shelling out my money year after year for this sport (hbo, showtime, boxnation, skysports subscriptions and ppv etc) just give me some damn good fights doesnt matter where you put them I will find them!

I actually prefer that fight to be on Showtime.

They can have their smaller fights and tune ups on regular TV, but when it comes to paid TV I want big fights. If not what's the point of paying the monthly fee for Showtime?

PBC is a total failure. Showtime was the best in 2013; they had stacked cards all the time. Apparently whomever it was that knew what the f*** they were doing is no longer working with Al. Now it's just about getting his guys the biggest paychecks for the littlest risk. We only get a decent fight here and there in order to keep us quiet for the next wave of embarrassing fights.

This is exactly how I feel. Those of us who actually pay for all this should be rewarded with good fights or good fighters.
The tune ups can be put on the weather channel for all I care.

I didn't exactly see the masses chattering about this one before it took place. I say a few ****** comments here about "hope they both KO each other", and that was it.
We can look back and say it was significant but very few of us were actually looking forward to this one. I think it got whatever rating it did because it had no competition that night.

As do I because I'm not into the presentation on PBC and Showtime has a great crew of commentators.

I cancelled my showtime late last year after they had no good fights.

This is another problem with Haymon boxing at the moment. The promotion, whatever there is of it, is extremely ineffective. You have to really follow boxing to even have any idea when the fights are and what channel they're on. I will say that the All Access they did for this fight was terrific.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda! HBO should have put GGG/Lemeiux on regular HBO but didnt.

Who cares the channel? It was a good matchup and like always i dont care if im the only one watching.

Im sure if we use the power of hindsight we can say this about many many fights
