Second, we hear certain fighters say they will fight GGG if the $ is right, so as a fan, in your opinion, whats a fair purse to fight GGG?

And third, in a fight with GGG vs Jacobs, who should get the higher purse? Essentially whos the A-side...
    No.

Whatever they can negotiate. Better fighters know that GGG needs to fight better people so they will ask for a little more.

The fight should be in NYC in the Garden. I would suggest 55/45 or 60/40 GGG.

In determining the split, since neither guy is really all that obvious a star, it's going to come down to simply sitting down and counting the revenues to be brought in [Golovkin likely brings the stronger live gate, fight is worth far more to Jacobs' broadcaster, Jacobs likely brings more NYC sponsor interest, Golovkin may possibly brings multinational sponsors, Golovkin brings international TV rights money, etc]

On the face of it, an equitable split is likely 65/35 Golovkin; that number likely gets pushed down to 55/45 Golovkin, if the insistence on HBO getting the fight occurs (doubt that HBO is ready to commit more money than Showtime for the fight)

$1m downside guarantee, with a 40/60 split of the upside on the fighter share of the fight proceeds, would be an offer that Jacobs couldn't walk from.
LMAO. Jacobs went from "who's that" a week ago to bringing in 400k ppv buys in a stay busy fight for Golovkin.

Nobody knows who Daniel Jacobs is. Seriously. I live in NYC and NOBODY knows who Danny Jacobs is. Golovkin's popularity in NYC is 5 times greater than Jacobs'.

This is a Shobox or HBO After Dark fight with 1.5m/1.0m purse tops. People don't understand that those are actually very good purses, it's what Canelo/Lara made.

I could see K2 bidding $4mill and Haymon bidding $5-6mill. If K2 did win the bid, Haymon would just have Danny pull another Quillin and drop the belt again.

            $5 millions combined:

$3 millions for GGG, $2 millions for Jacobs.

With the numbers you suggested, it could only be ppv.

I think its either 60-40 or 55-45 to the super champion (GGG) if there is a purse bid.

I think this could be PPV... I think it could exceed Lemule Vs GGG but I guess its a risk.

Definitely not PPV lol, but I think a purse bid would give us a clearer picture of what the fight is worth.

If this is the case, Jacobs just made $1.5 mil. Should GGG take a pay cut?

GGG's HBO deal means they need him to fight no names so they can afford the card.

I can't see risking putting this on PPV because it will not sell.

I agree with you - this is not a PPV event, and unless HBO gives Golovkin an out AND Haymon sponsors a big purse, this fight's not happening. I just can't see Haymon paying an HBO fighter to humiliate Jacobs.

Everyone here acts as if 2m is a tiny purse. Jacobs made 1.5m because he's with Haymon, not because he's worth it. Canelo made 1.5m for Lara, and Cotto made 3m for uh.. Martinez? (could be wrong, quoting from top of my head)
