everybody gets it wrong but not many of those guys can be regarded as bad fighters around that time and Gamboa is still a top, top talent but he has been mismanaged for years, largely his own fault.

His decision making hasn't been very good but that video clip reminds people of all the shortcomings he had, been dropped 4 times by his 13th fight and was swinging wildly in exchanges.

Not a single one. Not a single one of them reached the pinnacle. That's crazy.

Some of them got really far though. Berto/Ghost/Ortiz won the Floyd sweepstakes, Haye fought Wlad, and Dawson was the lineal LHW champion. Gamboa and Lopez should've fought each other to crown the best FW, but we know how that turned out.

Gamboa was the best at his weight class for a while but made ****** decisions and mismanaged his career. He should never have been fighting Crawford anywhere above 130.

Dawson won a lineal title and was ranked p4p. The rest have been in some great memorable fights. I don't see a problem with it. In 2009 everybody wanted to see Juanma vs Gamboa.

Indeed. As far as people laughing at these guys, who has really faced top opposition and come out a shining success?? Not many.
NSB gets swallowed up in hype, then they laugh at the very guys they claimed were the "future".
