What else did you expect he knows the game, just contradicts himself as usual.

      Even ask DiBella

      dude, this just isn't true.

dibella was unbelievably candid about the golovkin fight. i'll post the links if you care to actually look at it.

lou dibella is the f#cking man, for the record. i've been around him, and seen him work a room. you don't get the vibe that he'd sell his mother's soul for a few dollars, the way you do with don king, or even some of the small time promotors on the northeast. he's just a smart, decent dude with his bases covered. true professional.

he sized me up like a piece of meat the first time he saw me. looked right at my chest. i'm pretty strong, and he f#cking checked me out like a side of beef. he probably thought "hmm, if we get this short guy down to 200 lbs i got a cruiserweight who'd look great beating the f#Ck out of him on an edwin rodriguez undercard"

his stance on the golovkin fight in the period immediately preceding martinz' retirement was basically that HBO championship boxing couldn't pay him enough to fight a puncher like golovkin at the end of his career. he didn't want or need to face a puncher like golovkin at the end of his career. they wanted to cash out and get martinez on small ppvs, because he did enough and was spectacular enough in his prime to have earned it. he had decisive victories over pavlik, williams, and chavez. pavlik and williams had very good careers, and chavez is the biggest MW i have ever seen.

here's sweet lou doing what he does better than any other promotor, and that's trying to not go to hell when he dies. he's candid about the golovkin fight. sergio didn't need to fight a puncher like golovkin at the end of his career. he fought cotto, a lesser risk, for more money. they box for money. lots and lots of money.

They are not getting an upside until a certain buy threshold is met. It sold 350,000. Arum was expecting 475,000. The event barely made a profit, and Arum was not about to give more to Martinez

What is the double standard? I'll show you that actually the double standard is being used against GGG and in favour of Ward.

So when they want to make a Ward vs Kovalev fight, they're trying to get Andre Ward beat? And why don't you think the same when they try to make GGG vs Ward? It's clear that they want to see GGG lose. Not only because they want to see him against Ward at 168, but also because they want to see him against Canelo at 155. They want GGG to lose, badly.

At least Ward vs Kovalev is an even match, where both fighters would weight the same, have the same height, and reach. No difference at all, no advantages for anyone. So what's the matter? it's a fair match.

I want to know who forced Andre Ward to fight at 172 in his last fight? according to the whinners he is being forced to fight Kovalev? but I remember him fighthing at LHW last time, and there was no talk of "I'm being forced to move up" thing.

GGG vs Ward would be a guy almost two inch taller, weighting more, and having reach advantage, against a smaller guy.

So, the reality is that Mayweather and other wants to see GGG lose against a bigger opponent, having disadvantage in every department.

So they shouldn't talk about double standars, at all.

BUT, it gets even funnier, when Mayweather says:

That's what he says about Ward. If we replace the number 168 with the number 160 if we have the same standards, which supposedly Floyd has... then he should be OK with GGG staying at 160 and doing his thing there. But NO, he says: "I will be impressed with GGG when he moves up and beat Ward". Double standards? yes, against GGG.

And then he compares the whole situation with when he "had to" face Gatti, and talks like he was being put against a high risk. Lol Gatti had like 5 loses, no comparison to GGG or Ward who are undefeated. He tries to makes us believe he was involved in similar high risks fights.

He says there's a double standard against Ward, and actually the double standard is against GGG. No one is forzing these boxers to do anything, they are doing what they want and Ward is fighting at LHW since his last fight for some reason he knows. Ward can come down to 168 and do his thing there if he wants to.
If Golovkin wasn't content to simply sit there, smiling that goofy smile, while his camp tried to sell him to the press/world as "the world's most dangerous man", no one would have anything to say about him; he could gladly keep fighting at 160, crushing whatever fighters put in front of him, collect his paydays.

The issue comes about when Golovkin is allowed to have things both ways; if he's supposed to be this monster, he's expected to actually be ready to fight other supposed monsters.

Andre Ward doesn't have anyone in his camp talking crazy or making statements that he's not willing to back up. He fought Kessler, fought Froch, fought Dawson, and is now booked to fight Sergey Kovalev.

No *****ing, no false hype, no super-charged media spin. Hopefully Golovkin actually fights someone worth fighting before his career is up.

Martinez-Golovkin would not have been a PPV fight, and it took to just this year for Golvokin to earn a payday over $1m for himself.

Even before getting into the A-side/B-side talk, HBO has seemingly never paid K2 over much over $2m to deliver a TV broadcast (total the purses paid to the TV fighters, while assume some upisde for the event promoter).

In what world was Martinez going to get $1.5m to fight Golovkin, when Golovkin was only able to get his own $1.5m payday because his opponent was ready too walk into the ring for a title fight for $100k?

aspirational goal, but you already understood that.

Andre Ward is all of 31 years old, just tentatively moving into his third weight class. Beyond that, no one ever said anything about a heavyweight title run; like Roy Jones Jr, Andre Ward envisioned himself, one day, challenging for a heavyweight title.

Because, frame for frame, Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr are about the same size (Ward being a couple inches taller likely opens up for another 10-15lbs beyond where Roy Jones went up to in his move; Roy is a bit longer though).

Roy Jones Jr was 34 years old when he fought John Ruiz for his share of the heavyweight title. In three years, Andre Ward would be 34 years of age, having spent that whole period of time at 175 or higher.

I doubt that he would go after an 'Anthony Joshua' or 'Deontay Wilder' title shot, but if a guy like Ruslan Chagaev has a heavyweight title in three years, you can bet your bottom dollar that a 6'1 205lb Andre Ward would be looking at getting a shot.

Martinez was the A-side name. HBO wanted that fight and would have paid him handsomely for it. GGG would have been lucky to get 500k, but they would have taken it.

All you say is bull****, just hear his latest comments: "They force me to move up" Andre Ward.

                      Nice try.
