The IBF have been proven to have taken bribes and yet people uphold them as some beacon of light against the wbc,wbo and wba. They are all as corrupt as each other and if promoters got together and decided that they wanted their fighters to hold the ibo, wbu and wbf belts no fan would care. Fighters make the belts not the other way round liam smith is technically a world champ for christ sake.

Why wouldn't Wladimir be the IBF's # 1 now and be ahead of Glazkov? Wlad hasn't lost for 10 years he finally loses and now has to work himself up the ranks? I can see if someone won a fight for the title and lost their next fight, but the guy is a proven champion and defended the belt numerous times. Ridiculous.

Glazkov was the mandatory way before HBO made Wlad vs Fury, Fury got a chance thank to HBO matchemaking

                Alphabet bodies.

There should only be one Champion. Those alphabet bodies are the
curse of boxing. The real Champion is Fury.Wilder is annoying sideshow.
There should be only one World boxing body.IBF are a bunch of
bloodsucking idiots.Look all the world champions right through the
division. What bloody confusing mess. All these world bodies should be
all force to amalgamate.Which other sport have so many world bodies?

Throw them all in the trash. Neither fighter deserves the title of Heavyweight Champion of the World with the pathetic performance they both exhibited.

I understand what the IBF rules are -- 'm just was saying if they were going to make an exception you think this would be a good time considering the longevity of their previous champion. Whoever wins Fury or Wlad in the next fight I'd like it to be for all the belts minus the WBC and then the winner gets Glazkov. Probably not going to happen but that's the way it should be.

I can understand you being behind Fury based on his version of events, but it's difficult to criticize the IBF if you look at the actual facts.

The WBO and IBF mandatories were both due. The IBF rules allowed for the WBO mandatory to take place first IF the Klitschko-Fury winner agreed to immediately face the IBF mandatory next. Klitschko and Fury agreed to face the IBF mandatory next if they won, but never intended to honor that agreement in the event that Fury won as Fury took a large sum to agree to an immediate rematch in the event that he won.

It has nothing to do with respecting the "true" champion. The IBF follows the rules. It is the only sanctioning body that does so. It follows every rule to the exact letter. Klitschko and Fury agreed that the winner of their fight would face the IBF mandatory next even though they both knew they wouldn't be honoring that agreement if Fury won.

                      The IBF's hands were tied.

                      Vicious -

The IBF is the least corrupt organization. It's not a cheap move. A mandatory taking a large payment for a rematch clause, knowing it means they can't make their mandatory and then painting the IBF as the villain is the cheap move.
What a joke. Yeah, their hands were tied because they're greedy jurrks. And lack ANY common sense. But hey go ahead and stand up for em. This entire issue is insane, yet a few will still stand up for the sanctioning body pathetic enough to do it. Like some others have said, sanctioning bodies cause most of the problems in this sport. Glazkov would refuse a half mil step aside fee? No way. Happens all the time... except NOW? Right after long reigning champ loses, and same ex-champ made Fury sign an immediate rematch clause? Tell me where the IBF is somehow the ethical one in this equation.
